President Donald Trump on Thursday said that he was extending a pause in attacking Iran’s energy facilities by 10 days, to April 6, at the request of the government of the Islamic Republic.

Trump’s announcement on Truth Social came as key stock market indices fell and oil prices rose.

“As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

“Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others, they are going very well. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

When the Dow closed down almost 500 points today and oil rose about 5% on continuing concern about the impasse between the US and Iran I covered my short positions. Thinking trump would not allow things to fester over the w/e. I guessed right.

Here's what extending the deadline doesn't do. It doesn't take the pressure off oil/gas prices. Cuz the longer Europe and Asia remain unsupplied with tankers headed there stuck in the Strait the higher oil/gas goes.

Translating to higher inflation across the board for virtually everything that gets transported, higher bond yields causing higher mortgage interest rates, slowing the economy, slowing the global economies, less chance of a rate cut..........you get the picture.
