Exactly. No matter how we address the emissions, we are going to be feeling the effects of the present emissions for decades even if we reduce emissions to zero. And there will be increasingly strong storms on the East Coast, dumping more rain at rates not experienced in recorded history there. On the West Coast, we will get stronger droughts, relieved temporarily by atmospheric rivers that drown areas for a few days. And damage vast amounts of infrastructure. And as we replace the infrastructure, we are going to have to build for these extremes. And that will cost far more than the original infrastructure. And then there is the human cost. We have homeless people right now in Oregon from last years fires that destroyed everything that they had. We have ranchers and farmers that will never recover from this years fires. Same for California. Add decades of drought on top of that. If we choose to leave these people stranded, it will cost the nation dearly.
