'Worship' As A Political Concept

Protestants wanting freedom from other Protestants, well most of the founding Fathers, were Deist and or Unitarian .

No the majority were religious.

Religion and the Congress of the Confederation - Religion and the Founding of the American Republic | Exhibitions (Library of Congress)
"In response to widespread sentiment that to survive the United States needed a stronger federal government, a convention met in Philadelphia in the summer of 1787 and on September 17 adopted the Constitution of the United States. Aside from Article VI, which stated that "no religious Test shall ever be required as Qualification" for federal office holders, the Constitution said little about religion. Its reserve troubled two groups of Americans--those who wanted the new instrument of government to give faith a larger role and those who feared that it would do so. This latter group, worried that the Constitution did not prohibit the kind of state-supported religion that had flourished in some colonies, exerted pressure on the members of the First Federal Congress. In September 1789 the Congress adopted the First Amendment to the Constitution, which, when ratified by the required number of states in December 1791, forbade Congress to make any law "respecting an establishment of religion."

The first two Presidents of the United States were patrons of religion--George Washington was an Episcopal vestryman, and John Adams described himself as "a church going animal." Both offered strong rhetorical support for religion. In his Farewell Address of September 1796, Washington called religion, as the source of morality, "a necessary spring of popular government," while Adams claimed that statesmen "may plan and speculate for Liberty, but it is Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon which Freedom can securely stand." Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, the third and fourth Presidents, are generally considered less hospitable to religion than their predecessors, but evidence presented in this section shows that, while in office, both offered religion powerful symbolic support.

When the Constitution was submitted to the American public, "many pious people" complained that the document had slighted God, for it contained "no recognition of his mercies to us . . . or even of his existence."

Without a doubt there were many radical Protestants who as the above article goes on to say they were disappointed with the Constitution that is did not address God as much as the pious wanted.

Interesting read. Protestants came to America and then wanted to string up heretics.

too bad nobody takes the right wing seriously about morals, or the law and economics.

If Only, I could have prayed for True Love and performed True Love rituals, at a temple dedicated to a goddess of Love, my whole life.

Personally I'm not that fond of socialism in its purest form, but I have all respect of those who are, or believe, in a political concept as the major guide to govern.

But I believe very few Americans, democrats or otherwise, do really believe in socialism. From the article:

"In terms of definition, the poll made clear that socialism meant a greater role for government in the economy and substantial wealth redistribution, but the idea itself was not clearly defined by its traditional meaning as government ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange"

What I'm saying is that those asked can't hardly imagine real socialism and instead think in terms of "more fair" or "more solidarity". Don't you agree?

Let's see if I can point you in the right direction.

1. Socialism is only different from communism when they aren't yet strong enough to slaughter their citizenry.

a. Liberal and Progressive and Democrat are used interchangeably in general parlance...

Liberals are admitted socialists.

["Liberals care less - Pew divided their sample into different categories across the left-right political spectrum. When asked if respondents “often feel proud to be American,” a majority of strong liberals, 60 percent, said no.
The only group that solidly agreed with the statement was conservatives, ranging from 72 percent to 81 percent."
Stunner: 44 percent not proud to be American | WashingtonExaminer.com]

b. Even Marx admitted that true communism could not come about without revolution. So the statement -- "A communist is a socialist with a gun" can be accepted as a truism.
So....Liberals, Progressives, Socialists = Communists.

a. Liberals and progressives and Democrats are used interchangeably in parlance

When bereft of knowledge in nomenclature it is not unusual to see redundancy and weakness of definition..

Yes, it's unfortunate. Especially now, in a time when we are so desperate to apply labels on each other...

It was much easier when society was less digital and could just make a word stick by creating a label, with a Dymo label maker..

Isn't that the vagina?

Trump worships god !? Lol! The guy is a sin machine ! What's Christian about him?

And the winner countries are all socialist . ( using the loose definition of the word )
Just like Obama, Trump is a fake Christian.

I'd also like to point out we have yet another cut n paste thread from the op with little to no intellectual thought or input of her own.

Killjoy

Poli is a robot .

Trump became a Christian when it was time to run for prez .
that is for the most part true I believe. IMO the only POTUS's in my lifetime who were sincerely deeply religious were carter, Reagan and GWB.

PS----PC gives plenty of her own input, usually just not in her OP's
Reagan was the biggest Christian perpetrator before Trump.

Him and his wife were engaging in seances. One of the most anti-Christian things you could do.

While you Obamunists would give anything....anything.....to have had the success both domestically and in foreign policy that Reagan did....

....you never miss an opportunity to bay at the moon.

You dolts bring this to mind:
Sour Grapes
an Aesop Fable

A very hungry fox walked into a vineyard where there was an ample supply of luscious looking grapes. Grapes had never looked so good, and the fox was famished. However, the grapes hung higher than the fox could reach. He jumped and stretched and hopped and reached and jumped some more trying to get those yummy grapes, but to no avail. No matter what he tried, he could not reach the grapes. He wore himself out jumping and jumping to get the grapes.

"Those grapes surely must be sour," he said as he walked away, "I wouldn't eat them if they were served to me on a silver platter."
