“Work” As A Defining Characteristic

Hard work and the price was right with a lot of benefits for the family. Now many women work in many jobs they do not like while their kids are taken care by someone else. Life does not have to be so complicated. But we made it so.

They have to in order to pay the mortage. Do you have a wife and children? Its been this way since the 1970s.

Be more precise with that "we."

Taxes.

To pay taxes.....due to the Democrats.

You don't have a job, do you? Yet, you are on here yammering about work ethic.

Slavery in the Bible | My Jewish Learning
All Israelites are servants of God. God took the people out of the House of Bondage in Egypt to be free, not to be slaves. Just as the earth is the Lord’s and is not ours to possess, so all Israelites belong to God and may not be possessed by other human beings, not by other Israelites …

Slavery in Judaism - Jewish Virtual Library
In Biblical Law. CLASSIFICATIONS. Hebrew Slaves: A Hebrew could not become a slave unless by order of the court (for which see under Criminals, below) or by giving himself voluntarily into bondage (for which see under Paupers, etc., below; Yad, Avadim 1:1). Other slaves …

Jewish views on slavery - Wikipedia
Jewish views on slavery are varied both religiously and historically.Judaism's ancient and medieval religious texts contain numerous laws governing the ownership and treatment of slaves.Texts that contain such regulations include the Hebrew Bible, the Talmud, the 12th-century Mishneh Torah by rabbi Maimonides, and the 16th-century Shulchan Aruch by rabbi Yosef Karo.

The issue of biblical slavery if far too nuanced for your ability.
There is no slavery comparable to the Democrat's version in the Bible.

Trump said he never paid taxes.. only stupid people pay taxes. So tell me about your work ethic.. Don't change the subject.. What sort of work did you do to earn money?

· The penalty for beating a slave was death if the slave died. If the slave survived, then there was no penalty, simply because the financial debts basically cancelled each other out." Bible Says It’s Okay to Beat Your Slave, As Long As They Don’t Die? Exodus 21:20-21?
As long as the slave didn't die within two days. Do you think that's fair?

Exodus on Slavery

“When you acquire a Hebrew slave, he shall serve six years; in the seventh year he shall go free, without payment. If he came single, he shall leave single; if he had a wife, his wife shall leave with him. If his master gave him a wife, and she has borne him children, the wife and her children shall belong to the master, and he shall leave alone.

The slave shall be freed in the 7th. year but the master will still own the slaves's wife and children.

That's fair right?

Why are you so busy promoting slavery in the bible, regardless of whether it's more cruel or less cruel than that practiced in the American south?

I'm pretty sure you don't really mean it.

She has a secret...
I've exposed that which she was trying to keep secret. She lacks any positive female attributes because there was no mother influence in your formative childhood years. I've been very generous with her on account of that which is no fault of her own. Even though she continues to be so hateful and toxic.

We'll work through it eventually if it's deemed permissable to give back what she hands out.

Is that why she's unmarried and never had a job?

I've given you the benefit of the doubt by accusing you of being wrong on several occasions, instead of accusing you of outright vicious lies.
I may have to reconsider!

I'm never wrong.

We've proven it, with your lacunae being prominent, on numerous occasions.

10. In so very many ways, the dogma of the Left/Democrats/Progressives is the very opposite of the biblical views entwined in the success of Western Civilization. The Democrat ‘Green New Deal’ even guarantees an income to those who ‘don’t care to work,’ as does the latest push….beyond welfare….to a Guaranteed Income for everyone.

“The Torah does not believe in leisure culture nor in man’s ability to create and initiate from a place of complacency. Complacency causes people to disengage from the turbulent tide of life, and their lack of involvement will bring them to a state of emotional boredom. On the contrary, a person who feels that their continued existence is contingent upon their active involvement will connect to both the world that surrounds them and the society in which they live, thereby infusing their life with meaning. This, in turn, creates a better world.”
Michael Eisenberg, “The Tree of Life and Prosperity: 21st Century Business Principles from the Book of Genesis.”

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Such should be the epitaph of Liberalism.

‘Welfare’ as a wholly owned subsidiary of the government, and its main result is the incentivizing of a disrespect for oneself, and for the entity that provides the welfare. As more folks in a poor neighborhood languish with little or no work, entire local culture begins to change: daily work is no longer the expected social norm. Extended periods of hanging around the neighborhood, neither working nor going to school becoming more and more socially acceptable."
From Peter Ferrara, “America’s Ticking Bankruptcy Bomb,” chapter five.

You're coming to understand that social issues need to be dealt with in America!

But you're still trying to place political blame on the left as the left attempts to bring about social change. ??
While continuing to ignore the fact that America's big companies and corporations have spirited away the labour to China. Thus ensuring even greater income inequality in America.

Think it through hon, instead of going on another rampage of toxicity and hating.

Every day you lie about America.

Jealousy?

It eats away at you, doesn't it.

11. I love Eisenberg’s method of tying modern business success to the timeless lessons of the Bible.

“An expression of Judaism’s approach to the inherent importance of work and its significance in human life appears in a midrash (homiletical exposition) that dis- cusses the desire of Abraham to live in the land of Israel:

When Abraham walked through Aram Naharayim and Aram Nahor, he saw the people eating, drinking, and acting loosely. Abraham said to himself: I hope that I do not have a portion in this land. When he arrived at the Ladder of Tyre [northern border of the land of Israel], he saw people busying themselves with weeding during the weeding season and hoeing during the hoeing season. He said I hope that I will have a portion in this land. (Bereishit Rabbah 38:9)

The land of Israel and its inhabitants seek livelihood that derives from a strong work ethic rather than a free ride. This is the way to establish a healthy society, a creative society that takes an interest in both being involved and in having a positive influence. With such a society, it is possible to build a nation steeped in moral principles that radiate outward to all humanity.”
Op. Cit.

I’ve been to the Holy Land, and have seen that these people turned a desert into a veritable Garden of Eden.

12. The idea that government should simply pay people to sit home is absurd, counter-productive, and proven wrong by experience.

The Bible on the other hand, takes human nature into account, with work as the path to self-respect is part of the doctrines:

David Mamet has written: "This is the great contribution of our Judeo-Christian foundation to Western civilization. The principles of justice are laid down in the Torah and the Gospels, and implemented through human actions memorialized in judicial codes.

The written laws and rules are codifications of the unwritten ones worked out over millennia as the result of human interactions and experience."

And this can be seen in the understanding of unforeseen circumstances.....

"Yet God understood that even with hard work, people sometimes make bad decisions; in addition, as King Solomon said, “time and chance happeneth to them all” (Ecclesiastes 9:11). Circumstances do bring people to poverty sometimes. Consider some other economic principles God outlined in order to address this fact of life.

God instructed that arable land be divided up among families and, if sold, returned to the original family at the end of 50 years (Leviticus 25). Think of how far this would go to reduce generational poverty. No government-sanctioned theft (wealth redistribution) here. Just transactions governed by clearly understood law.
Every seventh year, all consumer debts are to be abolished (Deuteronomy 15:1-2). Today, debt is one of the primary causes of bankruptcy and entrenched poverty.

[The plan is followed under most bankruptcy laws..." Each state has its own statute of limitations on how long different types of debt can be collected by suing after initial default before being considered time-barred. This period is typically 3-6 years but a few states such as Kentucky allow much longer time periods (up to 15 years). Declare Bankruptcy or Just Wait Seven Years?]

Ungleaned fields are left for the poor (Leviticus 19:10). Wealthy people are not to harvest every last bit of their crops—and poor people are required to work to collect their food." Is God a Socialist?

So....in the Bible we do not find support for communism, nor socialism....but rules that "preserve private incentive. No need for government-enforced wealth redistribution. No need for bureaucrats to decide how much wealth is one’s “fair share.” Ibid.
