In 2017, the original Wonder Woman opened to almost twice that and China’s box office is pretty close to back to normal. For example, The Rescue, a China-produced film, also debuted this weekend and humiliated Wonder Woman 1984 with $36.3 million opening.

Wonder Woman 1984 is shaping up to be a full-blown catastrophe that has nothing to do with the virus and everything to do with audience indifference.

You take Gal Gadot out of Wonder Woman and replace her with one of Hollywood’s generic starlets, and Wonder Woman’s got nothing. Gadot is a one-in-a-million find who holds that terrible movie up all on her own, and after first blush, it just isn’t enough.

Nevertheless, for whatever lunatic reason, director Patty Jenkins decided to make Wonder Woman 1984 woke with a Donald Trump stand-in for her villain.

Who the fuck wants to see that? Trump supporters don’t want to see that, and there are right around 75 million of us. And those Trump-haters, who aren’t already sick of the guy, get their Trump-bashing fill 24/7, 365 days a week on TV, in the news, Late Night — it’s everywhere!

Thats a shame cause the first movie was great.

However under the circumstances no movie can be judged a success or failure due to the shut down of theaters across the country. And even the ones that are open are so desperate for patrons they will rent out an entire theater for a single family viewing.

Had to rewatch the last hour of #WW84 because I genuinely fell asleep. This movie is not good, I’ve never been so bored watching a movie, not since Interstellar

Pedro Pascals character was just annoyingly bad, Cheetah was what I thought she would be... dumb like the plot.

The movie didn't "go woke" but it was definitely shit.

Terrible movie. Outside of a couple special effects moments like flipping the truck or riding the lightning it was a snooze

First season is REALLY good. Second season is ok if you can get past them having an all new cast. The continuity was there and it made sense plot wise it was just jarring after getting warmed up to the cast in season 1
