Asinine. A "voting bloc" is a large group of voters with some essential trait in common, who vote almost unanimously.

Women are not a "bloc" any more than Catholics are a "bloc" or "white people" are a "bloc."

While political parties do not have any formal means of "excommunication" like the Catholic Church does, the Republican Party has pretty much "moved on" from its relationship with the Bush branch of the party.

You mean like the Christian Right? The ministers who tell members of their congregation which party to vote for, should be stripped of their tax free status.
