Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; -Ephesians 5:25
meanwhile as women are complaining about submitting to a loving husband, Christ, through Paul, is asking husbands to, in a way, submit themselves to their wives. He is asking husbands to surrender/give up their lives for wife. Why? Because just as Jesus wouldn't have us do anything He didn't first do (1 John 4:19), so husbands should do likewise.
We love him, because he first loved us -1 John 4:19
Heck, while we're at it, let's go one step further and forget physical marriage. Let's consider your eternal destiny and in the mean time, your daily life. Why would you (the unsaved) choose to have a relation with your loving creator, the God who gave his only begotten son for you and instead choose to remain married to the law which is, as the Bible tells us, the minister of death. The law that is the husband constantly wagging his finger at you.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: *That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: -Deuteronomy 30:19-20
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. *For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, -John 3:16-18
