I didn't say it was a good idea for us to attack them, I simply wanted to point out that the current regime is a murderous Islamic regime, and it's human-rights record is no better than what was experienced prior to their revolution. But you can't bring yourself to denounce it, can you?

As I have stated we could have invested better in building a good nation at their doorstep
We could have built a wheat farm , mill, bakery bread delivery system in Iraq 20 years ago and showed them the better way
We could demand better behavior from our ME allies , in term of human rights
We could demand Sandi and UAE stop selling our arms to warring countries
We could have reigned in Israel

There is no such thing as a Marine ship. That is a MARG, Marine Amphibious Ready Group of three NAVY ships, full of Marines. They are already in the area.

Seems to me the way to clear the Strait would be to:

1. Make a special mine-tripper ship designed to bump into any surface mines while tripping any mines below by metal detection. Once that can go through without tripping anymore mines, the corridor is safe.
2. Police the Strait to ensure that Iran adds no new ones.

Remember this old Navy axiom. Every ship is a minesweeper! ------ Once!
