Why Nazism Was Socialism and Why Socialism Is Totalitarian.

Capitalism, by definition, is lack of govt.
People are completely ignorant if they try to claim tyranny or authoritarianism is capitalism.

The Soviet Union was a capitalist country; state capitalism is capitalism, industrial capitalism is capitalism, and financial capitalism is capitalism. The word 'capitalism' is a general term, not a specific one; there are several categories, and few of the are 'laissez faire' types, in fact almost none of them are. Industrial capitalism has been the more successful historically; it has produced the logistical networks and administrative and accounting methods necessary for large economies to grow and produce. Financial capitalism is parasitic and eventually destroys productivity and generates the most corruption and kills itself off. State capitalism is just a more efficient parasitism created by instability inherent in it's mother, financial capitalism.
I have always laughed at the concept of "state capitalism"
That is nothing more than socialism with a capitalist veneer

All states invest capital. Whether it be roads, military, medical research, scientific research, educational facilities, etc. It's capitalism, very much so; whether it comes from mines, taxes, or a printing press, it's capital.

That's not all. If you owed 4 euros 50 cents to the finance dept, they'd hound you for it till the day you die. Adding interest to increments along the way. :04:

I don't know about other countries.

I think I'm right in saying that the US would not pursue someone endlessly, if it cost more to go after them than to gain anything in the end.

Actually, Saint Ronald Of Reagan changed all that, and had the Internal Revenue Service go after waitresses and other uppity proles, while reducing the number of audits of crooks, thieves, swindlers, and embezzlers, as long as they stole really big bucks. Republicans aren't really conservatives, they like class warfare and big time stealing over genuine businesses and that sort of boring stuff. They invented new ways of stealing, too, and developed laws and GAAP 'revisions' that allow people like Romney and 'private equity' fronts to make big bucks deliberately bankrupting sound companies and leaving them in ruins, like Mervyn's and many others.

That surprises me.

Though I have heard you can negotiate, when the German IRS guys come to call.

You have some interesting comments. I don't know if I agree with it but I read about the Bolshies years ago and Lenin's change of mindset.
In “a truly revolutionary-democratic state,” Lenin argued, “state monopoly capitalism inevitably and unavoidably implies a step, and more than one step, towards socialism”. He stressed that socialism would be “the next step forward from state-capitalist monopoly.”

Bolshevik economic policy

I admit to not thinking much of it at the time but it was my understanding that it was the road adopted by Hitler: yes the companies were in private hands but under State CONTROL; not to be confused with regulations though some Democrat regulations could be termed leaning that way.

Sort of reminds me of the 'beneficial to all' European Union, which would grant agricultural subsidies to large landowners, and nothing to the small farmer, resulting in him going out of business.

No hope for those of us who would like to have smallholdings in our back gardens.

In the U.S. few of the small farmers are legit, they're just upper middle class types who maneuver their way through the subsidy system and get paid to play 'Country Squire' on their horse farms and country getaways. The wealthier you are the more subsidies you can qualify for, while the main chunks of subsidies go to Big Ag. Remember Jimmy Carter, the Peanut Farmer? Peanuts are a big subsidized sector, and if your farm is grandfathered into to the gravy train you're set for life. My grandfather was a CPA out in west Texas, and we did tax returns for these types of farmers; some were legit, but many were just kids who inherited from their grandparents and parents, and didn't grow anything but weeds. One in particular is memorable, as he was out getting drunk with his buddies who had gotten their tax refund checks , and he got all pissed off and stormed into the office claiming my grandfather had cheated him, since he never got refunds n stuff. My grandfather explained to the moron how one had to actually pay taxes in to get a refund, but it never sunk into this idiot's head what the word 'refund' means. This guy was raking in some $230,000 a year from his subsidies, and dumber than dirt.

I'm sure he found a way to blame it all on Democrats, same as all the clowns who got upside down in the real estate bubbles from greed and stupid gambling between Reagan and today. It's never their own fault, it's the commies, or somebody else. Pay no attention to either left or right wing nuts, neither of them can do basic math or understand real life, or they wouldn't be ideologues in the first place.

Lenin had to backtrack on a lot of his theories that didn't pan out; he ended up handing trade monopolies to trusted agents like Armand Hammer to get foreign exchange cash and making foreigners like Fred Koch billionaires off the Soviet oil industry, though the latter actually worked for Stalin, not Lenin. But he became a Big Giant Far Right Wing Guy, like the former commie Ronald Reagan. I think they were just false flag agents myself, but all the drunks and sociopaths on the right fringes love them dearly, while making up ridiculous conspiracy theories about FDR and later on the liberals who actually went to war against the Soviet expansionists while the GOP sucked up to the commie regimes.

Nazi Germany was a fascist country, extremely right wing, looking back, not forward. The foolishness of the right claiming Hitler was a socialist ignores the realities of his actions and history. German corporations were not nationalized but instead thrived before allied bombings during WWII. Nazi Germany eliminated socialists and communists during their takeover of Germany during the 1930's. Wealthy Germans cheered Hitler's rise to power because the Nazi's eliminated the left in Germany. By the way, millions of Soviet communists and German fascists were killed during WWII. How can Hitler be called a socialist?

One of his first actions was to crush the labor unions, which the right wingers all love, no matter what country they're from.
