I see no evidence that anti-semitism is protected in the U.S. And, why do you think I'm not up to date with anti-semitism. My family genealogy is mostly Jewish. Those people who were murdered are some of my ancestors.

Ultimately ... the Nazis were allowed to march through Skokie, Illinois ... with uniforms, swastikas and anti-semitic chants and banners ... not that they did ... the movie The Blues Brothers got that wrong ... the march took place in a more downtown Chicago location, rather than the Jewish community as originally planned ...

"assault, harassment and vandalism" are CRIMES ... period ... no hate need be involved ... only if the original CRIME is based on HATE does it become a HATE CRIME ... spray painting a Star of David on the side of a synogoge is a crime, spray painting a swastika on the side of a synogoge is a hate crime (nominatively) ... spray painting a swastika on the side of your own building is protected speech ...

But in the U.S. some lawyer can get you big sums of cash for sniveling about it. That's why you don't see blacks suing African countries or Jews suing Iranians; they would just laugh you out of court and probably the country. If there wasn't so much money to made off of whining here and a load of ambulance chasers needing a payday there wouldn't be so much sniveling these days.

The problem with that is the same as comparing the Asians and Africans we get in universities here in the U.S. and then conflating their standards with the general populations back home; i.e. they don't compare. One is a self-selected demographic that bears little resemblance to the overall norms. Among Jews themselves Ashkenazis look down on sephardics, and it is enough of an issue to be relevant in Israeli politics.
