This is about resources, they want their resources... This is just a basic land grab from Denmark who weren't going to exploit Greenland for resources.

Greenlanders generally want independence some day but they are realistic and Denmark is considerate and because of the way Denmark Parliament structure works themselves and the Faroes have held sway of power a few times (this gives great leverage)...

The USA has everywhere bases in the world. No one asked them to do so. Shall Europe bomb the US-base in Greenland to the Mars? Then the USA should make a submission to the EU. We will then contact Greenland and ask whether this is acceptable. I guess in some years or deacdes you will get an answer. If they want to be faster, they just should leave their rotten or rusty military base on Greenland. It's anyway far too cold for them there. Should not be a problem to make a nice military base there for Europe - if Greenland needs one - including a glasshouse farm for vegetables.

The last thing a vast majority want is to become a territory of US to have their country ravaged by mining in which they have little control...

Greenland would probably want a very limited mining just to pay for the extra costs of living in such a harsh environment... That is about €650m a year...

So that Iron Ore mine would mean 2,300 chinese coming to Greenland... that 4% of their population... That would be the equivalent of 13 million Chinese coming to US to work in a mine near Washington...

Greenland allowed that but they still want control... I don't expect that those Chinese are going to be allowed into Nuuk on a Saturday Night...

It is not that big...

They only come to work at the mine... They never leave the mine plant... They have only work visas and they a flown straight home when they are finished... It is all enclosed, it is not like Chinese will be waling down the main street of Nuuk... Very limited exposure... They will see them at the Airport...
