In reality he is seeking a deal with Greenland's local government that would allow for the opportunity to increase our military presence beyond its present state and to discuss opening Greenland open to drilling and mining, et cetera. He knows that removing Denmark from the equation would improve chances for positive negotiations. This action has pushed Greenland's government to have elections on whether or not to have independence from Denmark and the elections favored independence. Trump knows that Greenland would not want to be under the thumb of another government just after voting to become independent from another government. He just wants more military presence there to protect North America (the US and Canada) and some drilling and mining rights.

Where people go nuts is trying to connect stocks prices to taxes paid by sellers. I understand the media keeps saying this yet said nothing at all when it was Biden raising tariffs, and by a lot more than Trump did.

What is stunning is that the Biden hikes were enormous yet the media downplayed them as were they pennies.

The Biden administration said Friday that it has finalized tariff hikes on certain Chinese-made products that the president first announced in May.

The tariff rate will go up to 100% on electric vehicles, to 50% on solar cells and to 25% on electrical vehicle batteries, critical minerals, steel, aluminum, face masks and ship-to-shore cranes beginning September 27, according to the US Trade Representative’s Office.

Tariff hikes on other products, including semiconductor chips, are set to take effect over the next two years.
