Well the corner stone of industry is oil. everything from cosmetics, medicine, refrigeration, plastics to fuel comes from oil. when there's a higher demand for oil than what is produced, it cost more, the same in reverse, more supply of oil, the lower the cost to purchase it. Trump was exporting oil for the first time in decades and we were making money.

Biden cut off the US oil supply, cancelled permits, inflation went through the roof, doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that, when SHTF in the Middle East and oil production is either threaten or reduced, cost of oil goes up, when the cost goes up, everything that requires oil, that cost also goes up.

Oil futures is also a factor, relationships between the oil producing countries and non-producing countries is a factor.

Keystone XL is a boondoggle..a tax dodge for the Chinese and Canadians. There's no benefit to US consumers or taxpayers. It would be refined in the Free Trade Zone and sold overseas.
