Obviously this is a huge issue so why is there such a rush to pass this thing when I'm sure half of the Senators haven't even read it? I know Conservatives will say because they don't want people to know what's in the bill but Liberals and/or Democrats from your point of view what is the hurry on such a massive bill?

Because the opportunity will fade as we get into 2010 and those elections. It's a 'now or never' situation for the Dems and they'll shove this thing through regardless that the majority of people do not want it; it's a foot in the door for government run h/c down the road and by God they are going to burst through that door no matter what. Who gives a shit what we, the people, want? Uncle knows best!

I wanna know why they are gonna let 180,000 people die before they let them have access to health care?

This is hardly rushing. I thought we'd be done with healthcare by July and certainly by the August recess.

Rs have stalled the passage of this bill as long as they possibly can with no input whatsoever from their side. Enough already.

So true. They know they are going to take a hit in 2010 so thats the hurry to get this piece of shit passed.

From what I've heard we will be paying taxes on this but it won't really go into effect until 2014. Oh yeah. You better put a lock and chain on your wallet because they are getting ready to tax you blind to pay for this peice of shit.

Dems did this pos behind closed doors; they didn't invite or want the R's there. They didn't want to hear anything the Rs had to offer (tort reform, opening covered up across state lines, etc). I thought Barry said 'bi-partisan'? Instead of making it a point to include the Rs he went along with Hairy and Nazi and ignored the Rs. Anyone who thinks this massive pos will do anything but increase costs and give uncle more control is nuts. $500B in 'savings from cutting waste and fraud in Medicare' to pay for it?  If you believe that I have some lake front property in the Sahara you should buy.

Sarah, apparantly you haven't been watching the news.

The Reps don't have the numbers to block anything. The controversy has been in the Dem party. The moderates and blue dogs were holding this up, thank God. Even with a majority in the House and Senate they couldn't get this passed until Reid gave Landreau 300,000 million dollars for her State and Nelson a pass on his State paying for Medicaid increases. Oh yeah. His state won't have to pay for the Medicaid recipients iin Nebraska, but you and I will along with every other taxpayer in every other State.

C'mon now...you guys haven't figured this out yet???!!!

I've been saying this in my posts for nearly 4 months now...
If the Bill get's passed before the New Year the taxes start on JANUARY 1st 2010!!! If they don't get it done til after the New Year it means JULY 1st 2010.

THAT MEANS OBAMA HAS TO LET THE DEMOCRAT CONGRESS GO INTO AN ELECTION WITH A BUDGET DEFICIT AND INCREASED NATIONAL DEBT.

If he get's it passed BEFORE the New Year he can apply all of the taxes he collects for healthcare to pay down the budget deficit....and forget about healthcare until it's necessary to BORROW 3 TRILLION DOLLARS FROM THE GODDAM CHINESE IN 2013!!!!!!!!

They've been too nice to Rs on this. Rs have been using delay tactics at every turn. Look at them now, opposing sending money for Afghanistan, demanding a full reading of the bill Saturday, dragging this out until Christmas Eve...

With the passage of this bill, Democrats will be feeling very confident in 2010. They're learning to win ugly. Obama didn't get everything he wanted but he's getting a bill.

Obama and his ilk need to put in place every piece of legislation they possibly can within his first term so that they can attain their goals of complete overthrow of government and freedom as we have known it. The easiest way to overthrow a government is to first destroy it's financial system and take over every other aspect of our lives piece by piece. If his track record in his first year is any indication, we can probably count on him being the last President this country has unless he's stopped. We might have our 2010 elections but I have grave concerns of whether we'll have 2012 elections they way things are being steamrolled over us. This is the least transparent and most sinister admistration this country has ever had.

:cuckoo: How DARE lawmakers demand that those who are voting actually know what is contained in that bill.

Go team at all costs, Sarah. You are a good little cheerleader.

It is not law yet. There are still arguments to be made in the House. Write your congressman. Write Obama. Write Michelle. Let them all fear their jobs.

Granny, you're just a fear monger.
Granny understands history and the fact that it tends to repeat itself. Liberal numbnuts suffer from wealth envy too much to pay attention to history. They think there's going to be milk and honey flowing equally to all the worker bees when socialism is the norm. It will flow only to government workers and will be paid for by the dumb masses...forever.

What idiots the liberals have become...cheering on the very destruction of this nation.

Wake up and smell the misery coming, you utter fools!

the dems are willing to lets thousands and thousands die for four years, they have the votes to save them but they won't.

We've smelled the misery before. 8 long years of it.

Granny and you understand wingnut talking points. Nothing more.

What an idiot!

What were they going to vote on? Don't they need a bill? Oh no, wait, Dems don't even need to see the bill to vote on it!

Sarah is correct, I'm sorry, you're not an idiot after all, I forgot Dems don't need to let anyone see the bill they're voting on.

Fuck off, Frank.

And Merry Christmas to ya...

Wow!

It seems there are some who take Glenn Beck seriously
