There are many reasons but one big reason is immigration. The U.S. takes in more immigrants than the rest of the world combined and MILLIONS of UNSKILLED and UNEDUCATED illegal immigrants have been sneaking into the U.S. for DECADES. It's starting to show now.

But today’s Democrats, bent on consolidating the Hispanic vote, aren’t likely to seek a lower immigration rate, or a better-educated pool of immigrants. The kind of “comprehensive” immigration reform that liberals support would probably increase low-skilled migration to the United States.

Iq tests are essentially verbal skills and vocabulary tests.

When you start re-defining words to suit what you want them to mean, instead of what they actually are, that's going to be reflected.

IMO it has a lot to do with the "everyone gets a trophy" mentality that the bleeding hearts have infested society with.

A few kids have difficulty with the subject matter, so rather than fail them, (because it might shatter their fragile confidence), so they can hopefully learn it the next time around, we pass them and dumb down the curriculum for the rest.

Bottom line, again imo, is that in our zeal to make everyone equal, we make most everyone mediocre.

also, since they are verbal/ and vocab understanding, immigrants probably do score lower, initially, until English becomes more their first language instead of second language.

in other words, our intelligence levels in the united states are probably higher than mere numbers for iq tests show....
