So far this fiscal year that is a fair assessment. Unfortunately, all of our 21st century presidents have been fiscal disasters. It has been nothing but tax, spend, borrow on one hand and reduce taxes, spend, and borrow even more on the other.

Trump's economic policy calls for a huge boost in the debt ceiling. We'll see how much conviction is shown by the House Freedom Caucus and back their stances against added to the debt ceiling as they've stated during the prior administration.

DOGE claims they "saved" $150 though that is very debatable.

But if he's saved $150 B and spending is still up over $150 B then that means tRump has spend almost 1/3 of a trillion more than Biden did in the same time frame.

It has nothing to do with who's budget it is, because DOGE would be cutting money from any existing budget. All things being equal a new entity coming along and subtracting money from an existing budget should show a drop year over year.

The thread is still a fail though, because DOGE anticipates savings of 150 billion in FY2026, which doesn't mean those savings would be realized in March of 2025.
