Pentagon requests $200 billion for Iran war… where are all the “fiscal conservatives”?

For 4 years I couldn’t open this board without someone screaming about generational theft, the debt clock, and government waste. You almost had strokes over student loan forgiveness. You called Ukraine funding a “blank check.”

You cheered DOGE gutting Medicaid because “we simply can’t afford it.” The “fiscal responsibility” card has been permanently revoked, so don’t ever lecture anyone on this board about spending.

Now the Pentagon wants $200 billion for Trump’s Iran war, on top of the $150 billion already stuffed into reconciliation, and suddenly the debt clock is on mute. That’s $1 billion a day, and the first 6 days alone cost $11.3 billion, almost exactly what your party just cut from SNAP to “save money.”

Fiscal conservatism was never a principle. It was always just a weapon, put away the second Dear Cult Leader decides he wants to blow something up without justification, an exit strategy, or a price tag anyone’s allowed to question.

We will take it from the Learing Centers

The $8T number usually comes from inaccurately adding the 2021 COVID deficit (mostly Trump-era policy).

Apples-to-apples deficits under Biden are closer to $6.7T.

All presidents have things that bleed into the next. $8 trillion plus with Biden.

But EVERYONE adds up their budgets genius. Whats wrong with you? Use facts man.

There was a Trillion difference between them. Why cant you be accurate?

2019: -$984B
2020: -$3.132T
2021: -$2.772T

/—-/ Presidents can’t control spending, taxes or the debt. Only Congress can.

There's something going wrong if the US military wants an extra $200bn when it has the largest defence budget in the world, spending roughly $997 billion in 2024, which is over three times more than the next highest spender. China holds the second-highest defense budget, followed by Russia and India. The US expenditure constitutes roughly 37% of the global total.

/—-/ So? We’re carrying the weight of NATO.

“He posted the Truth at 5:14 am (IST), giving Tehran time till Tuesday morning.”

Assuming, as I do, that the imbecile Islamofascist regime in Iran doesn’t comply, the question becomes “will — or when will — the President, once again, follow-through by doing exactly as he said he will?

Including covid spending is dishonest.
