Now a resident of a Red state! Hallelujah!
I have observed that ā€” to a large extent ā€” when a conservative member of our little posting community disagrees with some facet of what another conservative says, the tenor of the discussion is often fairly polite. Not always. But by and large.

Makes me wonder if it might not actually be true that we conservatives tend to be more open-minded than the liberals and leftists who post here. By contrast, I used to visit the daily kos. Iā€™d read libs not just ā€œdisagreeingā€ with other lib on that board, but ranting and raging. Any deviation from the current orthodoxy handed down from Mount Soros would be greeted by very angry invective. That board could even kick you off under such circumstances. A kind of excommunication.

My guess is therefore that the ā€œbeliefsā€ of the far leftist types is more of a religious kind of zealotry. Deviation from ā€œtheā€ā€™purest most orthodox views are seen as heresy. They talk a good game about ā€œopen mindedness,ā€ but reality shows they arenā€™t tolerant of it in practice.

Want some cheese to go with that whine? :)
Right wingers outnumber the left (and independents) on this board by at least 5 to 1.
I'm sorry, polite discussion on the right is something that isn't prevalent on this board...unless you agree with what they have to say.

For me personally, that's what makes coming here fun.
For example, you assume that liberal talking points or ideas come from George Soros..someone who in the course of daily events...is irrelevant.
That's about as winger as it gets.

As somebody that argues more on the left side of things but debate both Libs and Cons, I don't see things the way you a paint them. I see wing nuts on both sides. Of the two sets of wingnuts the obviously Uglier more disgusting bunch comes from the Right, no doubt about it. The left extremists are eccentric and unrealistic and like strategic plans but for the most part are fighting for more more humane and morally pure causes. IMO

I don't see it so much as a left/right disagreement. I see it as more, a populist versus establishment disagreement, and populists come in two flavors, collectivist, and libertarian.

The global elites, or the "statists," the folks that run the entire system, are criminals. They have rigged the media, the schools, the governments, the institutions of science, that have corrupted every facet of society with criminal bureaucrats, and false systems that are rotten from the inside out.

IMO? So? In the end, it tends to be a matter of opinion of how you view reality, about what is a more humane and pure way to administer society.

But without un-corrupted means to do it? None of that even matters. If you believe in the controlling authorities propaganda, you are bound to believe, that everything is fine, and that there is no corruption going on.

So many of the folks that were once Boomers, very liberal, who had optimism for the future, and believed in the values of the late sixties and early seventies, are the same folks that now support the freedom caucus/alt-right, for the same reasons. . . suspicious of corporations and government. These folks see clearly the corruption in global institutions. They remember the advice given during the Watergate scandal, "follow the money."

OTH? The folks that still believe that the values of the DNC remain the same? These folks are probably deluding themselves.

Either posters want to have a conversation or a joust. The majority prefer the latterā€¦

I agree for the most part. I think the commonalities between citizens are pretty widespread and they get skewed and distorted by the media and politicians who push us into camps and pit us to fight against each other. I do believe that most of us want the same things. Those on the left in general believe more in the purpose and pure intentions of government to protect the people and foster an equal and just environment for all to prosper. Those on the right are skeptical of mans ability to execute that as power ultimately corrupts and we know there is plenty of corruption and ineptitude in government. What baffles me is the willingness of those on the right to give that blind trust to corporations as they are just as corrupt as government. But that goes to the points you were making.

What makes you bleev this? :dunno:

Is it because corporate right media, which is owned by the same institutional investors pushes this b.s., so, you necessarily think that most folks that are conservative think that corporations can be trusted?

Most folks on this site are fully aware that the so-called, "build back better," and "sustainable growth," agenda by the UN and WEF are all based on Neo-liberal, global capitalist corruption, regulatory capture, and revolving door corruption. These institutional investors have put the world's global population into a bio-security police state, mostly based on exaggerated lies, and pseudo-science.

For me personally, leftist talking points about defunding the police, looting and destruction of property aint violence, MORE Federal spending CURES inflation and math is racist, etc, etc --- are more talking points from Karl Marx than anyone else.
Soros is older than dirt. Probably has an Army of AOC's running his "dirty deeds" operations.

Just general ideology and the defenses I see when I engage with those on the right. Always on the side of deregulation and cutting taxes for corporations. The exception being Lefty controlled companies but thatā€™s just politics in play

Corporation will NEVER be as CORRUPT and inept as government. They CAN however be a gateway to "Democratic Socialism". Because they love themselves the power to stifle and crush competition. ESPECIALLY, the new idea makers and "little guys".

You remember the ORIGINAL Google corporate slogan? "Don't Be Evil".. Well they dropped that one when they stopped handing out the beany hats at company get-togethers.

Yep. Defunding the police wasn't and isn't realistic. Most of us know that. Most of us knew it wasn't going anywhere. That's not saying reforms aren't needed and warranted. Nobody talks about looting and property destruction as a means to an end.
And the whole federal spending boat has pretty much sailed since Reagan was President. If the tax system were more equitable, it would still be a problem, but not as big of one.

Soros is irrelevant.

Corporations at their core will actually turn out to be more corrupt than a government. Because a government still has to be somewhat accountable to its people. Corporations are accountable to their shareholders and the almighty dollar.
You ever been on a Zoom layoff? I haven't. Not with 900 other people. :)

Corps will never be as inept but they can definitely be more corrupt than Gov as evidenced throughout history. They will lead to "Corporate Socialism" as they suck up all the wealth and ownership in this country... once automation kicks in the only thing left will be government socialism programs like welfare and UBI.

Here's all ya need to know. The HATE center of the US is on the set of "The View" and democrats are MORE vindictive about opposing views than the rest of us.

Here's PART of the recent AXIOS poll.. Besides dating, the poll included questions included "working for" or "shopping at" questions. In all cases, dems were more than 4 times more likely to PUNISH people with different political views.

I HATE polls -- but this one is fun. GO to the Axios site to see the other results.

Your example is far from corruption. How DO you fire 900 people at once WHO DESERVE (by all accounts) TO BE fired?

Profit is not corruption. But buying back their own stock instead of developing new products or corp infrastructure MIGHT be. And whatever the stockholders get they deserve because of the RISK they took to BELIEVE in the REAL VALUE of that corporation.

Well yeah, politics is a team sport now. We don't get to debate stances on actual issues we just get to call the person on the other team stupid. Perfect for all the brainless puppets out there!

Because a government still has to be somewhat accountable to its people.

Pop misconception. There's only ABOUT 537 members of the Fed govt that are accountable by elections. How many DECISION MAKERS ARE EXEMPT and unaccountable to Congress? The number is in the 10s of millions.

This has been made WORSE by Congress when they now longer WRITE LAW, but leave all the details of implementation to the UNACCOUNTABLE BUREAUCRACY..

They're writing blank bills to be DESIGNED by this Agency or that Agency or this Secretary or that Secretary.

Now tell me WHICH employees of a corporation are THAT unaccountable.

Profit is not corruption, but it can be used callously in the pursuit of economic advantage, which does lead to corruption. A government doesn't issue stock (bonds yes). Again, while government can certainly be inept, it has a harder time being corrupt since it answers to those who keep it running.

Well there's stupid, INTENTIONALLY stupid, naively stupid, and the stupid that just says -- I dont agree with you therefore you are stupid. I think that LAST one is what the poll was measuring.
