Places like Dominican Republic obviously have a passion for baseball….. thus kids there are exposed to it early and often…. thus they naturally turn out a proportionately large number athletes good at it

you don't hear basketball is too black, baseball needs more brown etc, it just does not come up

I don't think about geography much, actually I was really good in school with places and capitals all around the world

it's not something I think about today, it's not relevant to me, I have other things to worry about

The Dominican Republic isn’t really that close to the equator. It’s like 1300 miles north

You seem to think the equator is much further north than it actually is. It runs through South America. Parts of South America are in the northern hemisphere. Venezuela and the Guiana’s are all entirely in the NH
