I started the thread about hockey and how there is a push to make it less white and it went off the rails since then and totally off-topic

I did not make it up, it was on NHL.com the official website

It's not as much about race as simple demograhics

hockey is from Canada many years ago when it was mostly white and it spread to countries that actually get cold enough for ice

baseball is a summer sport, it can be played anywhere thus the mix

same as football, in fact the worse the field is the more fun

soccer, a summer game and popular in the middle east, not so much in the USA

I still don’t get what would be the big deal even if most MLB pitchers were from those places (they’re not)

Places like Dominican Republic obviously have a passion for baseball….. thus kids there are exposed to it early and often…. thus they naturally turn out a proportionately large number athletes good at it
