And they tax us, levies should be illegal. The Fed only accounts for 8 percent of school budgets. State and local government provides the other 92 percent.

If we had less crime, we could afford better schools. Sadly, we like our crime too much. And they tax us, levies should be illegal.
Kind of deflectingIf we had less crime, we could afford better schools. Sadly, we like our crime too much.
It's a budget thing. Less crime, more money for other things. Inner city schools can blame high law enforcement costs for starving school budgets. Although some can't make the connection, believing instead that it's racism that is denying them access to the money tree.Kind of deflecting
I would say age 40. The measurement would be their net value to themselves, their family, and to society. Of course, extenuating circumstance could be considered.
I would limit it to high school. Teachers look disappointed when a student chooses not to go to college so we should look at the graduation rate of those who take their teachers advice. Based on present college debt and dropout rates I'd say there are significant failures there.OK...
So we base current funding based on conditions of graduates of schools based on people that graduated 22 years ago (for high school) and 26 years ago (for middle school) and 29 year ago (for elementary school).
That sounds like a workable plan.

We could ask all grads if they are among the 50 million users of drugs and abusers of alcohol, which has brought a plague of crime, death, and misery upon America that is unprecedented in our history and is getting worse. A positive answer would eliminate credit for any good they might have done.
Kids are limited in how they demonstrate their racism.????????????????
Graduation from high school or college is the culmination of every grade that went before and is the 'completion' of one's formal education. So we keep the current model for Elemenatry and Middle School and only base current High School funding on some perceived "worth" (financial, social, and family) by evaluate people when they are 40 after graduating 22 years previously.
That sounds like a workable plan.

College is as culpable as high school in producing bad people. But you said only base high school funding on evaluating the worth of graduates 22 years after they graduated. Now we are changing that?
So we don't exclude Elementary and Middle School and now we are going to add college into the mix?
Sounds like a workable plan.

Why do you keep repeating the same post over and over?We live in a crazy time. People who suggest that "we" enforce our existing immigration laws are called xenophobes. People who suggest that the Tenth Amendment still applies are considered Right Wing extremists.
Congress has no power to spend money on EDUCATION. That's really the end of the discussion. It is a department that should be wound down over the next four years. God forbid any GS people should lose their jobs.
?Evaluate the “worth” of people at 60 to set college funding?
WW
College gives people the tools and the opportunity to do some really rotten things. Children don't have the means to hurt others that educated adults do. Education turns its back on moral teaching, so the dark side of human nature runs rampant with its grads.Bad people are seldom produced; most often revealed. If produced, look to the ones who literally produced them.
College is as culpable as high school in producing bad people.
So what do you say?
Evaluate the “worth” of people at 60 to set college funding?
Sounds like a workable plan.

Elementary and middle school kids are too young to evaluate. Age 40 is a good age. They've put their education to use for 20 years more or less by that time. Note that many coaches are fired if the team consistently fails to live up to its potential.Did you not mean to imply that pubic College/University funding should be based on evaluation of the "worth" of graduates X number of years after graduation (inserted what I thought would be a reasonable amount of time to evauate the "worth" of college graduates).
If you think that public college/universityh funding should be exempted from the post graduation evaluation like you exempted elementary and middle schools let me know and I'll apologize for the assumption.
But if you withdraw it, that means you original said public school funding should be based on an individuals "worth" at age 40. Then turned around exempted elementary and middle schools, are you now exempting public colleges/universities?
