I learned a valuable lesson in graduate school from a teacher everyone hated but he was brilliant with 2 PhDs in psychology and divinity. I had an assignment to analyze a family conflict. So I bring back my paper he reads it tells me its worthless and tosses it in my direction like garbage. He did stuff like that. After I suppressed the desire to punch his lights out I asked whats wrong with it. He said its all observable behavior whats the process. Thats whats really going on causing the behavior numbskull. I pause to suppress my initial desire. Then the light bulb went off in my head. Now for my point.

The anti gun mind sees a man shooting people and blames the gun. Their solution take the gun away. Thats observable behavior but not process. We are still left with the killer.

The process is a determined mentally ill person who in many cases intends to die is doing the killing. We address the process by stopping him in advance. That can be done because in most cases they expose themselves or have a long history of violence and mental illness. We need the ability to mandate long term or treatment for life. (That doesnt mean locking people up).

To those who claim well a gun makes it easy. How about running people over with a car. Should we take all the cars away. Pressure cooker bomb like they used in Boston. Address the process not the tool you can see

Yes, they will use such events to strip away any and all facets of freedom, because that is their true goal, not safety but control.

These people are gritty when a mass shooting happens, they want it to happen, as to take away your rights.

That's exactly what PM Albanese is attempting to do.
He's ignoring the fact that this was an antisemitic Islamic terrorist attack.
Instead of taking on the problem of Islamic terrorism exported around the world, this idiot wants to impose more draconian gun restriction on Australians.
Additionally, you have to wonder why Albanese didn't call for heavy restrictions of knives after a similar attack in a Bondi Junction shopping center?
"On Saturday 13 April 2024, 40-year-old Joel Cauchi stabbed and killed six people and injured a further twelve in the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping center in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia."

Here is a thought, every gun in this country should be registered, just like a car.

They should make a policy that everyone in this country has one year from the day the policy is signed to register their guns. After that if you are caught with an unregistered gun it is a mandatory 5yr jail sentence, if you are caught committing a crime with an unregistered gun it should be a mandatory 10yrs added to your sentence.

The actual goal isn't to really stop school shootings, but to completely disarm the American public. A completely disarmed public is easier to control and ensures that an authoritarian/tyrannical government can operate with impunity and any disturbances only requires that government to send out their armed national police and/or military. Some of them use "death squads" to hunt out the leaders of political opposition. To get into power, they claim to support Democracy, but once they've convinced the public to back them and they get elected, the Democracy actually ends.

Tell the LIE again.

Find ONE poster on this board that has suggested "A Total and Complete Disarming of Americans."

You may be able to find some random obscure article written by a left wing loon, but nobody else is suggesting that.

  • Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (Brady United): Focuses on passing strong federal and state laws, advocating for universal background checks, and challenging myths about gun ownership safety.
  • Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV): The nation's oldest gun violence prevention group, emphasizing research and evidence-based policy, aiming to make gun violence "rare and abnormal".
  • Everytown for Gun Safety: An umbrella organization (merging Moms Demand Action & Mayors Against Illegal Guns) that supports universal background checks, red flag laws, and bans on assault weapons.
  • Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America: A grassroots movement focused on community action and influencing policymakers.
  • March for Our Lives: A youth-led organization advocating for significant gun law reform, often pushing for bans on assault weapons and universal background checks.
  • Giffords: Works to advance gun safety laws, including through their "Gun Owners for Safety" initiative, highlighting gun owners who support reform.
  • Sandy Hook Promise: Focuses on preventing gun violence through education and advocating for common-sense gun laws.
They all want to ban guns

The want to end gun violence. That's their stated goal.
As long as there are guns, there will be gun-related violence.
Thus, they want to not just ban guns but remove them from the hands of everyone - including the state.

Guns a ubiquitous and there are more guns than people. Today guns can be printed as well. They will never be eradicated.

No American is more of a gun-grabber than the current President, Donald J. Trump....
All you do is lie.

They are also durable - modern* firearms, with minimal maintenance, will remain serviceable indefinitely.

* This includes pretty much every firearm designed for smokeless powder.

So, you would like to be on the losing side of a civil war?
