It's all about the math..... Not feelings, not politics, not green merit badges.....just math.

its not as complicated as far too many make it out to be.

We need current energy sources to meet demands but we need to continue to work for alternative sources as it wont last forever.

I understand...and I agree ...
However the renewables cannot meet the demand. Probably ever ....
Fusion will replace all of it ..
All of it.

I heard that on FOX business yesterday coming home from the gun shop.

I was amazed at how small the renewable contribution was to the baseline.

So how many trillions have been spent on that boondoggle, not to mention the subsidies.

Maybe.....we need to continue going forward. It might even be something we can't comprehend today.

You’re right. The problem is going to be getting people to willingly invest in new, not totally proven technology when their needs are already being met by fossil fuels. Especially when the increased cost to their electric and gas bills is going to be rather extreme.

By and large nobody, especially most companies, are going to pay more money than they have to. Cost is and always has been the driver.

I never thought that undermining fossil fuels made sense. Let the market decide. All governments role should be is to protect innovations so that they cannot be bought and suppressed.

For my hybrid options should be the future if we perfect the engineering and design for ease and capatability, but it has to be through capitalism and people risking said capital to innovate. No more burying innovations which could be paramount to our species evolution.

Which is why renewables have such a difficult time truly gaining ground.

I work for an electric utility company. We are close to reaching the limits of what we can handle in terms of Distributed Generation on our lines. We will not be increasing the capacity of those wires without guarantees that we can recuperate the costs of that work and right now we don’t have those assurances.

Something else I think climate activists don't really understand is the true depth and integration of our fossil fuel usage.

We will basically have to retrofit our entire society to stop using it. It's everywhere. We use it for everything. We use it to build the panels that collect sunlight.

Not gonna happen.... For precisely that reason

True. Unfortunately what the electric companies do have in store for us (FLISR, SmartGrid, AMI, etc…) is almost worse.
Oh you don't think they're just going to roll over and give up their massive profits do you?

Not at all; but renewables haven’t been a massive money maker for the utility companies.

These other programs are going to be the money makers, by reducing the amount of electricity they have to buy, restoring outages in seconds rather than minutes, and reducing their flesh abd blood workforce considerably.

Exactly

The Math of Fossil is excellent. What people don't know is that so is the Math of nuclear and now all the waste can be repurposed as fuel for the new Small Modular Reactors coming out.

Here is one of the best explanations on the Math of large nuclear plants.

If we as a nation adopt the AP-1000 Westinghouse design we can knock them out in 5-6 years and the payoff is incredible. They infinitely safer than the older plants we maintain and the energy they produce is superior with far less fuel to do so.

LOL Simple math that say you are full of shit.
