Billions have been confiscated in the name of infrastructure, yet so many roads and bridges remain in disrepair. Too much stimulus money was spent upgrading bridges and roads that were fairly new while the dilapidated bridges are still ready to fall apart. A lot of Dem supporters benefitted from the money that was supposed to go for the greater good. It was all a lie that nearly a trillion dollars would take care of our infrastructure. And it's a lie now.

Just like with education and other things, the money rarely goes to the intended target. As long as politicians claim it's for the greater good, who can argue? No one reads bills or cares what happens after the money is taken. If they actually fixed things like they are supposed to do, they wouldn't be able to cite it as a crisis the next time they wanted to pick our pockets.

In Iowa, some Republicans just supported a .10 gas tax hike for infrastructure. Not all Dems supported it. They will take in enough money to fix things so if we should see marked improvement in the next few years. We will know whether they are serious about the problem or whether the money will go for other programs that face a budget shortfall.

It's disingenuous to claim that one side or the other cares about things. That is nothing but empty rhetoric and only the ignorant buy that shit.
