Why doesn't the GOP threaten a govt. shutdown if Medicare Part D isn't repealed?

Based on conservative 'logic', that would make more sense.

1. Medicare Part D is a massive socialized medicine program

2. Medicare Part D was never funded, therefore it adds billions to the deficit each year, unlike Obamacare

3. It has low income subsidies in it, the most evil of all the evils conservatives loathe.

It's been around for 7 years. Its projected net cost 2006 to 2015 is over 500 billion. That's half a trillion eh?

Why no Republican hysteria over that program?

Uh.. problem with 2 and 3.

Obamacare added almost almost $6.2 trillion to the long term deficit.

another false analogy by NYC who is too chickenshit to vote in the poll and actually make a choice, instead he cowardly wants the pubs to make a choice, but he is unwilling to make a choice.

Because they are scared that they would lose support from their dying voter base, the Republican party is the party of rich white men, Romney is the prime example - in a few decades most Americans will be non-white (so it is only a matter of time till they aren't a party at all). The Republican party is in decline, which is why they are so desperate to stop Democrats from voting.

It's not about the money, it's about National Healthcare requiring insurance companies to pay a larger amount of their premiums to claims than corporate bonuses, investor returns, and net profit.

Because it was signed into law by a republican president.

What a surprise.

Republicans used "reconciliation" THREE TIMES under Bush. This was one of those times. The other two were the deficit creating Bush tax cuts that did nothing to help the economy but most likely helped fund the move of millions of jobs to China from 2001 to 2008:

Because there would be no GOP national party in 2016.
