Nobody on the right is complaining. I've been here since the thread opened and read every post. I myself stated I don't watch movies, and very little entertainment on television. Mostly I watch the news or HGTV. I haven't turned on a pro football game since the kneeling started. That's what we Republicans do and always have. I don't watch the emmy's or any Hollywood award show. I don't watch late night shows either.

Most of my time is spent on the internet where I can interact with other people and watch things I like to watch. Millions of people watch the NFL games. Great, watch them, I just won't watch them. Maybe when enough people like me quit watching, they will be smart enough to get their politics out of their programming.

Why as Americans do we feel actors deserve so much money? I honestly have more respect for the police, firefighters, the military, lawyers, congressmen, senators, etc.

I get very disqusted with the movie theatre, everytime I go I cant stop to think why I believe a portion of the money I paid for this movie ticket should go to the people I hate the most in life, the rich. I should stop and so should many Americans in protest going to movie theatres, without fans together we can really screw over hollywood. A way to get our revenge on all those rich actors for being so rich. If your a socialist like I am your a hypocrite by going to the movies and financially supporting the rich vermin scum.

Yet we as Americans seem to support financially those we hate most in life, the rich. We support them by going to see movies. I have never met a movie actor in my life and I could care less about their autograph, to me they represent everything I hate; greed, wealth, individualism, capitalism.

If it were up to me I would tax the living shit out of them to the point they would have to settle for a 250,000 house and a Ford. If ever socialism takes over in America a great way to get even with the rich would be to tax the living crap out of them, taking 90% of hollywood actors incomes and redistributing it to the populus.

You do understand, right, that if no one goes to the movies or goes to a concert the actors / band doesn't get paid, loses money, and can eventually be out of a job....and if enough people do not patronize a store or buy someone's products they go under, right? So in a way you ARE paying them....

Politicians have done so. They act all the time, get paid to lie, etc....

One can have an opinion and voice that opinion, thank goodness, without having to attempt to do what those we are criticizing are doing.

You do understand, right, that buying a movie ticket does not mean that money is directly deposited into the bank account of the actors in the movie? You do understand that purchasing that ticket does not mean you personally set the contract for those actors, right? You do understand that many, many more people than just the actors make a living in the movie industry, right? You further understand the relationship between supply and demand, right? "Why do WE pay actors so much?" is a childishly pointless question. If you don't want to go to the movies, don't go and leave it at that.

It's so stupid to bring your politics into entertainment. It's the typical saying Shut Up and Sing.

When you are critical of politics, a third of your audience could care less. They didn't come to see you for politics. Another third will agree with you. All you do is piss off the last third of your followers.

If they kept their mouth shut, they wouldn't piss off anybody, and have more people coming to see them. When your source of living depends on people seeing you and your talent, the smartest thing you can do is not piss them off.
