Milly Allcock.
I remember this girl from HBO's series "House Of The Dragons". She played the Princess Rhyaeran Targaryen. (too many vowels)
She was one of the reasons I bothered to watch the series, along with the male protagonist played by Matt Smith who played Prince Daemon Targaryen.
When they changed actors to an older Princess Rhyaeran Targaryen, played by Emma D'Arcy (not enough vowels), the series lost some of it's personality.
However, director James Gunn, who directed movies like "Guardians Of The Galaxy" 1, 2, and 3, "Suicide Squad" and the latest remake of the Superman franchise (which I thought was pretty good, BTW), I think he went too far trying to make Supergirl into some sort of drunken teenage rebel.
All of the usual Hollywood stereotypes were predictably present in this film, along with a fuzzy super dog Krypto, which I think was only put in the film to become a tear-jerker. I hate it when they hurt animals in films.
This is what Hollywood (or UK cinema) thinks kids should be. Drunken teenage rebels raising a ruckus and causing all sorts of chaos. Never mind the fact that anyone with Krytonian DNA can't get drunk on a planet with a Yellow Sun.
The first turn-off was immediate in the trailer with the use of Blondie"s hit song "Call Me" as the theme song. Is the director trying to say Supergirl is a slut, or is she a gigolo?
I guess he wants us to think that "girls just want to have fu-un" while kicking the crap out of mean bad-guys.
Featured quote; "He (Superman) see's the good in everyone......and I see the truth."
What makes Superman super, in my mind, isn't just his powers....it's his positive attitude about the human-race. I love films that bring out the positive rather than focusing on the negative. That's what you almost always can expect from a Superman film.
It remains to be seen if this movie will be successful with that element practically missing from the film. Spending $300 million on a film that only makes $50 million doesn't sound like a smart idea. I do hope they make some decent bank on this film, because I'm a sucker for super hero films. Good or bad, I always buy them. The Green Lantern stinker of a film for example.
Even with great actors they sometimes can't overcome a lousy script. Supergirl's cameo introduction in Superman was horrendous. I dreaded what they were planning for her own feature film.
