Why do some people get stimulus checks while others only pay for it?

So what? What does that have to do whether a convicted felon that has paid his time should get one or not.
If he is still on prison he has not paid his time

he is entitled to nothing

and after he gets out any helicopter money from the feds should go as restitution to his victims
Many states have a restitution program before the rights can be reinstated. Other states have a forced restitution program where the rights will NEVER be reinstated. The question here is, should the Federal Government get in the States face about the rights of released convicted Felons? I say no.

Our household income was above the cutoff amount for the last two "stimulus" and will be for the one they are considering now.

So once again we are paying for all you welfare queen weenies.
WE?

How fucking rich are you?

The cutoff is really not very high.
That puts you in what? The top 5% of income earners?

And you're bitching about helping out nearly the entire nation?

Whatrya a conservative or something?

Fuck you welfare queens. You little greedy shitheads think that other people should work to pay your bills.

How about paying your own bills?
Please do.

It's wrong to cut off body parts, and for some reason we can't put them in stocks for days at a time to suffer physically and mentally. IF they have kids they don't support, then we should air drop them back
We could deport them

in fact thats what we should do to every mole we discover
That'd be self-defeating if they'd been here for years and have kids they pay to raise. We could grant them temporary entry with work visas and tax them.

It sounds like they have a job that rightfully belongs to an American citizen

If the purpose, and means, of the relief bill were genuinely relief for those who've taken one for the team, I wouldn't mind. Outside of mask-wearing, and not being able to hang out at the local bar, COVID has had very little impact on me, while others have really been screwed over.

But the bait-and-switch of turning it into a "stimulus" is where things go sideways. That's where the pork pile lies and I'm not thrilled with paying for the latest Congressional gravy train.

Well if an American wants it, yeah. But the problem is they may have kids who are Americans who we'd have to pay more for.

The checks are coming from the federal government so Uncle Sugar sets the rules

and I say no checks for convicted criminals serving time in prison

after they get out if the states want to garnish the money I support that too

somewhere a family has lost a murder victim or a woman is dealing with AIDS that she contracted from a rapist.

I dont want to forget about the innocent

At this point all covid spending is about buying votes.
"At this point"?
At this point all covid spending is about buying votes.
And conditioning the public to demand a government handout
At this point all covid spending is about buying votes.
Yeah, nothing like the CARES act passed last year, with a $500 billion corporate trust fund, set aside by Mnuchin to be distributed at his discretion, recipients to be revealed in 6 months, 6 months ago.....................crickets.
from Forbes:
  • Large corporations: $500 billion will be allotted to provide loans, loan guarantees, and other investments, these will be overseen by a Treasury Department inspector general. These loans will not exceed five years and cannot be forgiven. Airlines will receive $50 billion (of the $500 billion) for passenger air carriers, and $8 billion for cargo air carriers.
Blindly hating corporations is not the answer

I was against all covid relief

a better idea is to reopen the economy and put Americans back to work

the current relief bill as I understand it will give money to upillegal sliens and murderers and rapists in prison

this is totally insane
Not blindly hating, just the secrecy of who gets what, there were several who didn't even qualify who got $$$, were exposed and gave the $$$ back.

No, illegal aliens do NOT get ANY $$$, just like last time and YES, for some reason, prisoners do get $$$, just like last time.

Reopen the economy?

Don't you need customers for that?

More than 700,000 workers in the United States have filed for new unemployment claims, the Labor Department said Thursday in its weekly jobless report.

The department said 730,000 people filed new claims last week, a decrease of 111,000 from the previous week.

That's my question. What part of the bill is not rationally tied to what people lost or had to expend in the pandemic.? It's certainly about stimulus. And so long as it's timed to end sometime in the 3rd qtr, there's a rational reason for it. We don't want another jobless recovery

Couldn't you make the point this is worse than Welfare? How about socialism by leveling the playing fields affecting the poor and middle class only? That is unless you're dumb enough to believe the very wealthy pay for something. They sure as fuck don't, only the middle class and poor do. Consider this:

Person A earned 30K in 2018. They rec'd a big raise in 2019, and earned 50K. What an improvement and the future looks bright, and they're also eligible for a COVID entitlement just cuz.

Person B earned 70K in 2019, so they're not eligible for a COVID entitlement.

Person C earns more on unemployment than they did working, and received $3K more income for the year 2019. Eligible for a COVID entitlement.

Person D
only likes to work part-time @ $50 an hour. Eligible for a COVID entitlement.

All will pay principle & interest & more (e.g., inflation & higher taxes) for "entitlements" of which only three receive benefit.

Also, which of those four scenarios deserves a COVID entitlement and why?
OMG!!!!

You mean that Congress is NOT going to review the financial history of each and every American and have a separate debate and vote for each of us!!!

How fucking LAZY can Congress get!!!

by kids you mean anchor babies

yes, we have been battling with the left for decades trying to deport illegals as soon as they get here

But thanks to liberals we have not had much success

now thanks to resistance from the same liberals illegals have had plenty of time to have Dreamers that you can throw in my face

Dreamers are not citizens, while people born here are. And there's reason for that. It prevents the 1% from ever again creating a class of workers who can't vote.

But I'm all for deporting people who can be caught and/or who don't have dependents. I'll leave personal shit out of it, for now. But again, you've taken this OT

Convicted Criminals aren't eligible. The question is about Felons that have been released. And that is a states issue. If I were to go to Prison right now, I would forfiet all of my Federal Income for retirement during the time I was incarcerated.

The cut off is not high at all. I guess to folks make barely making minimum wage it's a fortune. Lefty's really need to start putting some of that big brain of theirs to work so they can be just a little more successful overall.

What was Trump doing while all this was going on. He had it in his power to do
something about it, yes? No meowing by you then, yes?
WRONG PROG, don't mistake me for a PROG. In the case of TDS, Trump had to go along with something or he's not re-elected, that's called life.
He lost anyway (and yes he lost) but even then your argument boils down to "winning is more important than what you actually do".
Not at all. If you don't win, you can't actually do in this case. I think that you are thinking too much. Trump had it in his power to better organize the covid scenario.
He did not, saying that it was a "hoax" by the Dems and it would disappear. Then he dissed the mask and put a muzzle on Fauci. He admitted in an interview tht he acted in a deliberate fashion when he knew how serious it was. It goes on and on.
Now we have Biden who is trying like hell to control the spread.

Gotta have $$$ to spend.

So businesses can conduct business, no customers?

What's going to happen to that business?

So, yes, the money is for people sitting on their asses, so they will spend it, economics 101.

WRONG PROG, don't mistake me for a PROG. In the case of TDS, Trump had to go along with something or he's not re-elected, that's called life. You so easily forget Trump hammered the Demonicrats because their "relief bills" are always stacked with self-serving BS, and for entertaining fucked up PROG-ideologies, such as how to reverse your genitals and why it should be taught in school.

I am for:

A. Temporary small business assistance for only those impacted (INCOME analysis 2018-2020) by COVID, because many were shut down or slowed primarily because of PROGs. Truth of the matter is communists do not desire small business, just as they prefer poor & wealthy class.

B. Temporary person assist. with a cap (INCOME analysis 2018-2020). NONE of the examples in the OP can justify a COVID entitlement, which they or someone else will pay back 10 fold. PROGS are foolish. NOTE: Person A was supposed to read 2019 & 2020, not 2018-2019

C. Temporary large business assistance for only those impacted by COVID (INCOME analysis 2018-2020). Assistance can come in many forms. USA companies only, the rest can fuck off.

D. Temporary $ for playing the COVID game for medicine & vaccines. Temporary kick to Medicaid & Medicare.

E. Temporary added tax on big business & investors profiting highly because of COVID, hello Netflix (OBAMA) & Amazon.

There's your fucking relief package, so fuck off with the other BS, such as research into why you have balls in a foreign country the Xiden people have investments in.

Or we could just open the fuck up, a little temporary assistance and then fuck off already.
Trump has business dealings in other countries. Does Biden?
You make things so simple that I wonder why those who have knowledge of such things and have done their research may not agree with your assessment. Oh well.
