why do people still speak of Hitler these days?

because a lot of the history and media lean left, and while they may hate the people like Stalin, Mao and Pot, they have a soft spot for the source of their systems.

Again, to them it's not that Marxism sucks, it's that it has never been properly implemented.
They have a soft spot for fascism too.

The progs were all agog that Mussolini made the trains run on time...They absolutely loved Hitler, until they didn't.

/---/ One reason is the Left has a soft spot for communist dictators who slaughter their own people, like Stalin, Mao, and Pot. Fascists and Commies hate each other.
Who has a soft spot for them? The Right does have a soft spot for right wing dictators like Putin, Viktor Orbán of Hungary, and Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.

I don't go into the left/right thing on Nazism and fascism. they are authoritarian and that's all I need to know why they suck.

Just like Stalinism, Leninism, Marxism, and Maoism and all the other subvarieties of Marx's bullshit.

should he not best be forgotten?
Hitler has become the universal symbol of evil for the world.

He is a safe target because the entire world basically fought him, so declaring him "evil" works politically for all those governments that fought him.

However, Hitler was not the greatest evil at that time, Stalin was as he murdered millions more than Hitler. Stalin even helped attack Poland when Hitler did as Stalin and Hitler split up Poland between themselves, but war was only declared on Hitler. However, Stalin is not seen as a universal evil like Hitler, so why? It was because he helped fight Hitler with the rest of the world a few years later when Hitler invaded Russia in 1941., so how could the rest of the world paint an ally as evil?

And then came Mao who murdered even more people than Stalin, but the world refused to declare him as universally evil because of the Marxists in the world that supported genocide Joe Stalin

In fact, Marxism has murdered hundreds of millions more than Hitler ever did, yet today the media paints them as "cool" and posters on this site routinely defend Marxism in a roundabout way. Even the founders of Black Lives Matter were self-declared Marxists even though Karl Marx was an open racist and though blacks an inferior race.

Marxism has taken over the media and academia to hide their dark history and then uses Hitler to compare all their political opponents too using the media and academia. Now half the US is convinced that the greatest evil in the world are their political opponents who are all Nazis and not the wrecking ball of Marxism that history has shown to be the greatest threat to freedom and life in general over the last century or so.

This is the main reason Hitler will continue to be pushed in your face in the media and academia. It is because everyone requires a savior and a devil to fight. For the Marxist, their savior is Marxism and their devil is everyone that opposes them, just like Hitler did at one time even though Hitler and Stalin were basically cut from the same socialist cloth. After all, the term Nazi means National Socialist.

Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it.

Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it.
Which is why tyrants are constantly trying to hide it by vandalizing it, whether you be ISIS in the Middle East tearing up historical ruins or democrats tearing down statues of generals and Presidents.

Not the most accurate historical summary I've read, but not completely off base. Hitler is the poster boy for evil because all that he did was so well documented. Stalin didn't lose the war so he kept his crimes better hidden. The same is true for Mao, his crimes only slowly have come to light since history is written by the victors.

The thing all these men have in common is not economics but unchecked power gained from authoritarian rule. They may have even believed their ends justified their means, but holding on to power was their primary goal.

/----/ Nothing right wing about the National Socialist German Workers' Party.

You missed one word from the Nazi Party, Democratic, it was the National Socialist Democratic Workers Party, as we know there was nothing Socialist or democratic about it despite your attempt to smear it as Socialist.

Hitler! That's where I got the inspiration for my cat's name Kitler.

Now I remember.

It will take another 20 years before Hitler can be rationally discussed, when most of his contemporaries and their grandchildren have passed. In the meantime, we will still be mired in British propaganda about him.

He's the ultimate monster.
Fits well into demagoguery.

If for no other reason so people could understand what Hitler did,
Which I'm pretty sure they don't.

I don't think the Democrats realize how slapstick they sound.
Emboldened &
Enchanted by the sounds of their own
Collective voice,
Including their own journalists.
Actually, it was Himmler who masterminded the actual Holocaust, and Hitler was even somewhat surprised and taken back by what he accomplished when shown. It was like a cat bringing it's master a mutilated trophy mouse. And many people don't realize how close the cat came to running the show. Hitler was more involved in running the military campaigns, while Himmler was the architect of the secret police and the methodology of exterminating Untermenschen.

/——/ Not in Germany. National Socialist Party most often refers to the National Socialist German Workers' Party
Besides, democracy is mob rule with no regard for the minorities like Jews, Gypsies and disabled.

15th post
An interesting documentary on a key figure of that era. Watching the whole video you will find a connection to European policies in recent years. Oswald Mosley British Fascist.

What do you mean not in Germany? the NSDAP was a German party, and that is mob rule not democracy which has checks and balances.

/—-/ Try real hard to follow a thread. I responded to this “You missed one word from the Nazi Party, Democratic,”
Again, democracy is not part of NAZI.
