The danger of having public officials accept bribes in exchange for donation to their pocket is an obviously troubling proposition to any thinking honest person. Quid pro quo does not have to have physical evidence to support it, it is the evidence itself. If a small town mayor has a record of cutting favors to people who lose tens of thousands of dollars to him at the Saturday night poker game he runs, that is obviously corruption and he should get sacked. This is why we have laws against this sort of thing and ethical standards are hostile to even the appearances of such arrangements. Imagine the damage that could be done if such a person were Secretary of State (no wonder Hillary wanted a private email server) but imagine the affect if they were President, the top executive office of a major nuclear power with military and economic entanglements across the entire globe.
In a "Pay to Play" system of corruption, the government official tightens regulatory restrictions on the broader industry, or threaten to, but gives waivers to donors and supporter so they can get re-elected and enrich themselves with donations. If you dont pay the official in some fashion, you dont play in business any more and they shut you down.
But Bill and Hillary Clinton thrive on such things. While Clinton was President India was put on a restricted list of nations for nuclear program technology, but after a few over paid for speeches by Bill in India and millions donated to the Clinton Foundation, magically it wasnt a problem any more.
The system of donating to the spouse of a public official is as corrupt as donating to the official themselves as Virginia Governor McDonell found out.
McDonnell left office this month and was once seen as a potential Republican presidential candidate in 2016. He and his wife are charged with accepting gifts that included cash, golf fees and clothing, the grand jury indictment said. In exchange, they arranged for Star Scientific executives to meet government officials who could help their business, it said.
If convicted, the McDonnells, both 59, could face decades in prison and fines totaling well over $1 million.
One article said that they had take gifts totaling a mere $135 thousand, pikers on the Clinton family scale. So how does Bill Clinton get away with obvious bribery? Ask the director of the FBI, perhaps?
Prior to Hillary becoming Secretary of State, Bill Clinton got around $150k for a speech, but after that. His fees climbed as his wife's power to return favors grew.
Public speaking became a natural and lucrative source of income for Clinton when he returned to private life in 2001. Records from disclosure forms filed by Hillary Clinton during her tenures in the U.S. Senate and then in the Obama Administration indicate he took in more than $105 million in speech fees during that 14 year period.
Speaking fees are only a very small part of the scam, as the Clinton's wealth is entwined with their Foundations wealth as well.
So are we to believe that these ridiculous speaking fees and donations have all been without strings attached? Perhaps this is why the Clinton Foundations tax records were so poorly kept that they have to refile for years of bad returns?
From the Clinton's bungling of the Haiti Earthquake Relief, to their permission of sales of 20% of the US Uranium deposits to Russia, to Hillary suddenly being OK with Rain forests being clear cut and the XL Oil pipeline getting a go-ahead despite her Environmentalist credentials, all changed after donations or six+ speaking fees were paid to Bill.
What will Hillary sell her office for when she is President?
The American Middle Class has been getting undermined for the last 40 years and the decline in real after tax income while corporate tax receipts have continued a steady decline and the wealthiest 2% of the nation has had record windfall increases in their income, We have a right to know, given Hillary's pay-to-play track record, what she promised the Wall Street banks in her six figure paid speeches.
Are we to expect more increase in our taxes while corporations get more favors and waivers that none of the rest of us get, for example with Obama Care costs? Will her donors get favors and waivers from environmental ad worker safety regulations in her pay-to-play scheme?

You have to write cheques in the American political system.”

Mandatory financial disclosures released this month show that, in just the two years from April 2013 to March 2015, the former first lady, senator and secretary of state collected $21,667,000 in “speaking fees,” not to mention the cool $5 mil she corralled as an advance for her 2014 flop book, “Hard Choices.”
Throw in the additional $26,630,000 her ex-president husband hoovered up in personal-appearance “honoraria,” and the nation can breathe a collective sigh of relief that the former first couple — who, according to Hillary, were “dead broke” when they left the White House in 2001 with some of the furniture in tow — can finally make ends meet.
