Zone1 Why are there so many Old Testament Christians?

A city of a million people is a bit larger than a couple of stone tablets.

If the ark of the covenant (the box holding the stone tablets) is ever found, you'll have your evidence. It may happen.

they never existed ...

or were ever seen by anyone than moses who made them up ...

all three desert bibles include the false claim of commandments made by the liar moses - forgeries and fallacies found throughout all three publications the desert dwellers refuse to correct - proving themselves to be equally phony as moses.

And you know that how?

Tracks in the dirt will eventually lead to the critter that made them (hunting tip).

As a fallen away Catholic who has spent some time studying the Bible, I am curious as to why so many Christians embrace the Old Testament even as they seem to reject the teachings about love and equality found in the New Testament.
Because they've become Jews without having the brains to understand that, and without even getting in on the slaves and loot the Jews get from their world supremacy political program called Judaism--sometimes erroneously called a "religion." Christian Zionists, being the stupidest, most duped people who ever lived, will get their reward after they die <wink><wink> LOL. Fools.

Is this a common belief of militant atheists?

I have no idea. I'm not an atheist. But I understand the Old Testament is a political program for Jewish supremacy and not a religion and that Christianity was fatally corrupted when the OT was attached to the NT in the 5th Century and given "equal divine authority."

I understand no universal God can have a "chosen people."

I understand that no true religion will have a sacred magic book.

I understand that religious truth has nothing to do with virgin births and fish swallowing men and vomiting them up alive on the beach three days later and talking snakes and cutting the ends of our dicks off when we're babies and can't fight back and turning water into wine and coming back from the dead or any of that other stupid nonsense.

I understand that there is no such thing as "prophecy"--that no one alive 2500 years ago has anything to say about what the US policy toward Iran should be in 2025.

I understand that Judaism has made Jews evil and Christianity has made Christians stupid.

Ezekiel 5, shit list.
Ezekiel 37, reconciliation.
I think you are taking those passages out of context. I mean is it even possible for God to do anything other than love? I think your problem in understanding certain passages in the Bible is that you still think the flesh is of avail. That it's somehow important. It's not. We are spiritual beings experiencing a human existence. We are not human beings having spiritual experiences. One of the biggest arguments against God is that life isn't fair. That life should somehow be perfect. That's not the point of a material existence. The point of a material existence is to experience the full spectrum - good and evil - to learn from it and to pass it down. There are no shit lists. There are only people seeking God and not seeking God. I for one am much closer to God when I am suffering from life's inherent unfairness. Suffering is the fullest expression of God's love as it brings us closer to Christ who suffered for us.

Well, the Holocaust was a learning experience that's for sure.

The Old Testament has a lot of love to share as well.

What teachings about love in the New Testament do you think Christians reject? Contrary to the thoughts of libs , the NT is no more in favor of sodomy that the OT , a cursory inspection of clauses like Jude 7 and Romans 1 would show you

LOL.
