You have many, many issues of faith to come to terms with since you started accepting enlightenment on the bible's errancy. Stop trying to blame your feelings of betrayal on others.
Ding is a thinking Christian who can't just ignore the Catholic church's acceptance of modern science, in place of the 'creation' myth.
It's a burden to accept by Christians who are too intelligent to keep on pretending and so his faith isn't carrying him through as it does for those Christians who can just ignore reality.
Ding has to blame others because he can't bear to acknowledge that what he was taught when he was indoctrinated as a child, is no longer true.
For those of us who were never indoctrinated or have escaped from religion, it would seem that letting go of stories such as Noah's ark would be easy. It's not easy for Ding.
Embellishments aren't errors. They are used for specific purpose. Like George Washington chopping down a cherry tree was used for a specific purpose. This would be like you arguing since George Washington didn't chop down a cherry tree the author's intent to portray George as honest was an error.

Sorry for the long delay in responding. But the point is this, Jesus wasn't referring to "The Bible". You know that. He's referring to the Tanakh/Torah/Pentateuch. To try and squeeze the entire canon of the Bible in that statement is a hermeneutical error.
My point, the First century Christians had no Bible. They had the Torah and the Tanakh. First century letters written to the messianic Jews and then to the Gentiles from Paul, were copied and shared. They did revere those letters and were advised to treat them the same as scripture. But if you asked Paul or Peter, or any of the authors of the NT letters if they were writing 'Scripture' that was on Par as their own Torah/Tanakh, they would say no.
Also, keep in mind that MOST first century Christians, were probably illiterate. Studies show that literacy rates were 10-15% amongst the populations of the time. This is why believing and faith came from "hearing" during that time. Also, this is why 'pastors' during this period needed to be literate, so they could study and read what? The OT, not the NT, because it wasn't going to be around for awhile. Pastors of the time needed to be able to read shared letters.
You are the example of a sad and angry Christian.
Why is it that I can be happy without a god while your god is causing you such pain.
Maybe you never did need a god after all?
You need to come to terms with your changing beliefs, or just choose to stop believing altogether?
