Why Are There No Democrat Intellectuals?

I support actions not people. I am not for tariffs which tax poor consumers the most. I am for supporting israel and dealing humanely with Palestinians. I am for tax cuts for those making $75k and under but not for rolling back taxes for the wealthy and I could go on and on. What I am mostly against is the attempt to demonize people like they are trying to ruin the country or turn to crazy communism because I think the rich should bare the burden of taxes when they (we) have all the wealth. Trump is a dumbass but I will support actions that make sense. "they are eating the cats.. .they are eating the dogs" bullshit is ridiculous.

"I am not for tariffs which tax poor consumers the most."

3."Top Economist Admits Trump May Have ‘Outsmarted All of Us’ on Tariffs
Donald Trump has a knack for making the so-called experts look foolish, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the ongoing debate over tariffs. The political and economic elite have ridiculed Trump’s approach, insisting that his tough stance on trade would backfire, cause a recession and cripple the U.S. economy. Yet despite all the apocalyptic predictions, the economy hasn’t gone south, and predictions of a looming recession have been quietly walked back.

4. In April, Sløk warned that Trump’s tariffs could trigger a recession by summer, particularly harming American small businesses and potentially halting the flow of goods from China to the US, leading to layoffs and a broader economic slowdown."

Manufacturing jobs have made a comeback. Wages for blue-collar workers have risen. And, perhaps most importantly, America has regained leverage on the world stage. Trump’s willingness to use tariffs as a bargaining chip forced our trading partners to the negotiating table and secured better deals for American workers.

“Extending the deadline one year would give countries and US domestic businesses time to adjust to the new world with permanently higher tariffs,” Sløk writes. “It would also result in an immediate decline in uncertainty, which would be positive for business planning, employment, and financial markets.”

5. "What 60 days of tracking prices on Wirecutter picks showed

President Trump’s Tilt-A-Whirl of tariffs has left many consumers feeling dizzy, if not outright nauseated, over the possibility of rising prices.
But have prices actually gone up?
The answer: Things haven’t changed
as much as we expected them to.

Of the 40 products we tracked, 27 of them — roughly two-thirds of the group — didn’t change at all. Another three actually dropped in price. And 10 went up.

Of the 10 that had price increases, only three jumped in cost by 15% or more. The other seven increases were relatively modest.
....the majority of prices didn’t budge much this spring.'

Thank you, but he is a lawyer whose job it is to aid clients.
He sued those who said he was in any way involved in the sex flights.

Did you vote for Bill Clinton?
There’s several issues.

One, he didn’t have to take him as a client. He did it for money. I don’t respect that.

Two, getting a corrupt sweetheart plea deal is not the same as defending a client in my mind.

Three, he epitomizes the greatest problem with the justice system, where money seems to be able to buy innocence. Poor people don’t stand a chance and are easy targets for prosecutors even if they’re innocent and rich people can be so difficult to prosecute, that prosecutors may avoid charging them even if they have evidence of guilt.

Your brain is meaningless. I dont support "Trump". He is an asshole, stupid, and anti-democratic. I support moderate policies and can actually explain why to boneheads like you who dont understand English very well.

Yes. They. Do. Tariffs are paid by US companies who raise the prices to customers. Those are regressive taxes.

It means you dont understand English.

You have no logical position on taxes.

Childish words typed for your circle jerking.

Your brain is meaningless. Just like Trump's ruminations on how the Civil War led to the Declaration of Independence in his office.

Just what I wrote in the OP.

This is a party whose sole platform since June 16th, 2015, when Trump descended the golden escalator at Trump Tower, has been hatred of a man they once revered.

They, quite literally, stand for nothing else. And their movement from center-left to radical far-left is just a sign of the intensity of that hatred growing ever more extreme."

You lied about me, scum, and when challenged on it, you tap-danced.

I guess you're the poster boy for the Democrat Party, Herman the Vermin.
I was worse than that, I used your own logic and when challenged on it, you deflected with juvenile name calling. Not even at the level of junior high.

Heck, the debate pretty much ended.

Heck, the debate pretty much ended. When those loons called me a racist for disagreeing with Obama's policies in 2008.
This is what I reject.....as per the OP.

Call someone a racist......but prove it, don't just sling it.

Mz PC, asking where are the Leftist intellectuals is an excellent question. As was stated---------->Mr Dershowitz is one, but of course, they now disown him, lol.

Maybe, you should ask where are the SLIGHTLY intelligent LEFTISTS on this site, that could actually argue their position!

There isn't any! What you have on here, is the D, or the F team, put forth by the DNC, because this site is to small to worry about in the world according to LEFTIST DNCers. What you actually have is------------>3, 4, or maybe 5 LEFTIST loons with a bunch of socks, trying to eat by getting 2 or 3 cents a post, while trying to convince people that their side has more people supporting it. They are sooooooooo weak and dumb, they post 1 sentence in all responses, and think we can't see through them, hahahahahaha!

And look at the D-F team they send---------->IM2dumbtoknowanything, the king/queen of 1 sentence SAPPHIRE MOONGLOW, the weakest 1 with the least cred......and none of them have any cred, so that tells you how weak this individual is....Marener.

But then, when the F team crashes and burns, they quickly bring in the upscale D team, lol. Who is that? Citysewer system, and the CHARMING and DELIGHTFUL MACAFLOOZY, both DIMBULBS, but brighter than the rest of them, lolololol. They both have SOCKS to come on here as needed under different names........ESPECIALLY FLOOZY............but many of us know who is-)

In any case MZ PC, may I suggest that you........and everyone else look at the posts by LEFTISTS on here......the 1 liners. Now being thinking individuals, do you think they are trying with all that exertion of 1 line over and over to change anyone's mind, or rather......trying to score for their 2 or 3 cents a post per rules of the DNC, hahahahahahahahah!

If for NO other reason, this is EXACTLY why all of these people I have mentioned, deserved to be LAUGHED off this board! They aren't trying to discuss what we need to do with our country, they are trying to get PAID........and doing a pi** poor job of it too, I might add! Just think------------>if we CUT OFF their 2 or 3 cents a post, they might actually have to go get, REAL JOBS! If I had to bet, I would put money down they would NOT last a week-)
Excellent post.

This place could be better with real debate and discussions.

You literally doubled down! I love you so much, you just give and give. :clap2:

OK, let's try again.

The Democrats are the Left, or, half of them are the Far Left, Bernie, AOC and now Mamdami.
Cite your source, mine are embedded in text.

Bernie received 26% of the primary vote, which, if you can do math, is nowhere near half. Additionally, not all Bernie supporters are far left. Far left has no definition. The Progressive Left is only 9% of the Democratic Party and considers itself more liberal.
The usual Democrat are battling for control of the party as you can see from the WaPo headline.
The Democratic party is very centrist as you can see by the candidates of Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, Hilary Clinton, with Obama slightly more liberal. The leadership is Jefferies and Schumer. All moderates.
I know you are a Democrat, but of the Left, or the Communist Left.

I trust you are brave enough to answer this question:
If the direction of the Democrat Party, nationally, mirrors that of Mamdani, Bernie, and AOC, will you vote Democrat?
If the right nationally mirrors that of authoritarian Donald Trump will you support the undemocratic policies just because his sign has an elephant on it? I already said I dont support candidates I support policies and the candidates that best reflect them. Only Trump is a demigod who can change his policies and embraced radically unconservative positions of tariffs, national citizen registry, conscripted religious doctrine, limitations in freedoms and choices without losing support. It is bafflingly crazy.

If you want to know if I support a policy, list it. But having you define what those politicians is a bullshit bait. Do you support shooting immigrants in the legs? (a suggestion by Trump).
Mamdani proposed increasing taxes on white neighborhoods –
A document on his website explains the policy idea to “shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods.”
I already told you what he poorly intended to say seemingly. If you have to run back to this without addressing the fact he wants to make taxes fair. Effective property tax rates show that owners of luxury condos in wealthy areas pay lower effective property tax rates compared to other properties. NYC's personal income tax rates reach their top rate at relatively low levels of taxable income, which some argue means single filers with high incomes pay the same marginal tax rate as those with lower incomes.

Those are real issues to address.

[*]Mamdani is already leaning into his socialist views, telling CNN that he has “many critiques of capitalism.”….he would eliminate fares on all city buses
Already answered. Are you a bot?
......he plans to address the cost of food by creating city-owned grocery stores that will pay no rent or property taxes, buy and sell at wholesale prices from centralized warehouses and partner with local vendors to keep prices down.
.... raise NYC's minimum wage to $30
What is your contention here?If NYers want to make sure their local hourly wage earners are being paid a living wage... why do you care?

"Pressed on whether New York’s Jewish population could depend on him to protect them with antisemitic attacks on the rise in the United States, the candidate answered emphatically: “Antisemitism is not simply something that we should talk about."www.the-independent.com

Where do you stand?
=============================================
You just reposted shit without responding to my answers.

Simply question really.....will you still vote Democrat if the Marxist, anti-Semite faction takes total control?

Will you consider voting for the other party?
Your question is stupid. JEWISH AMERICANS VOTE DEMOCRAT by 4-5Xs the GOP because Jewish Americans know that the anti-Semetic white nationalists waiting to kill them are supported by the GOP and see the GOP party reflecting another authoritarian governement of the last century. The fact that the Dems have support inside the tent that are anti-Israeli government (which isnt popular with US Jews) does nothing to sway that support.

1. That means here, on the board. There certainly are Leftist intellectuals....Johnson actually wrote a book titled "Intellectuals." And, of course there was Kal Marx, Alinsky, Gramsci, Lenin, Mao......

2.Definition: An intellectual is a person who engages in critical thinking, research, and reflection about the nature of reality, especially the nature of society and proposed solutions for its normative problems. Google.

3.But here on the board, basking in the most beautiful aspect of America, free speech, we can't seem to get beyond cursing and juvenile tit-for-tats that don't address the pivotal aspect of our Left-Right views. Where are the "good point," or "I never thought of that" or "I don't agree because..."?
Where are the carefully posited view points, documented with important quotes and statements by names we all know and respect?
While this board could be college or grad school, it is largely junior high.

4.So where are the clearly written, well thought out, documented beyond simple opinion, OPs about why the Left/Far Left (that's the Democrat Party today) is better for America and Americans, and how they wil bring their plans to fruition? In an article today, Chuck Todd reveals that the Democrats have no ability to do any of those things, and voters who just vote for the party no matter what, are the same.

Anyway, we could have a lot more stimulating discussions.......debated.
Today's left just destroy shit, and including what their parents and grandparents built. on rare RARE occasion one writes something good, otherwise their shit is a ship of shit. No offense to shit though, natural grows stuff that's useful.

Well, recently I have posted a half dozen threads trying to get Democrat voters to discuss the intenal war in their party, and where they stand if the Far Left/communist element, which has always been about 49% of the party, takes over....if they will continue to vote Democrat.

Bernie, AOC, Mamdani are all over the news, and yet none of them will engage or answer the question.

Or make the argument for socialism.
They are gob smacked. The democratic party has split. No arguing any more. No denying the facts. There is what remains of the democrats and the democratic socialists. Idiots like Chuck Schumer are still trying to pretend that the democrats are still whole but its a fiction.
