Why Are There No Democrat Intellectuals?

I believe you are, generally, correct.

There are those 22% who believe ( I almost said 'think') that they need to keep attacking the other side, Trump, while it is the agenda that produced the loss.

1 There are those of us who have been brought up correctly, with the right principles and knowledge of right and wrong

2. Some of us may not have had that start, and been misled by sophistry, but finally saw through it and moved in the right direction.

3. Most of the Democrats on the board belongs to neither of those categories. Nor are they alone: Around 22% of Americans identify as strong Democrats, meaning they are highly likely to consistently vote for Democratic candidates, no matter how many lies and hoaxes are revealed, or how far left the party goes.
They are not intellectuals.
^^^^Not an intellectual^^^-More like an Asian fifth columnist.

I think we can all agree that Trumpsters are far more intelligent, accurately informed and emotionally stable than anyone who doesn't think exactly like they do. So it's only fair to assume that only Trumpsters have intellectuals.

I mean, that's just a GIVEN. The rest of us on the planet can only aspire to their level of intellect and knowledge.
How about trying your hand at a question of great importance to your party and to the country:

I know you are a Democrat, but of the Left, or the Communist Left.

I trust you are brave enough to answer this question:
If the direction of the Democrat Party, nationally, mirrors that of Mamdani, Bernie, and AOC, will you vote Democrat?

Mamdani proposed increasing taxes on white neighborhoods –
A document on his website explains the policy idea to “shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods.”

Mamdani is already leaning into his socialist views, telling CNN that he has “many critiques of capitalism.
….he would eliminate fares on all city buses
......he plans to address the cost of food by creating city-owned grocery stores that will pay no rent or property taxes, buy and sell at wholesale prices from centralized warehouses and partner with local vendors to keep prices down.
.... raise NYC's minimum wage to $30

"Pressed on whether New York’s Jewish population could depend on him to protect them with antisemitic attacks on the rise in the United States, the candidate answered emphatically: “Antisemitism is not simply something that we should talk about."www.the-independent.com

Zohran Mamdani’s political positions, from Trump and ICE to Israel
Progressive shocks front-runner Andrew Cuomo in New York City mayoral race with stunning upset
www.the-independent.com www.the-independent.com

... won the New York City primary race because of his support for Palestine,

I am looking for thinking Democrats, who understand what WaPo wrote:

The Post agrees, and they give the entire game away in their headline: Zohran Mamdani’s victory is bad for New York and the Democratic Party.

Where do you stand?=============================================

Why are yous guys so shallow and pedantic that it is not even a job to diss yous.

All he won was a place in a race that is not over and you show yer fear of him daily.

Oh, the irony. A post from
  • someone completely unqualified to judge the intellectual level of others.
  • Someone who has mastered the art of the cut and paste and then stopped learning.
  • Someone who will paste the same tired memes, regardless of their accuracy.
  • Someone who, when challenged, reverts to schoolyard insults.

Maybe those liberal intellectuals don't make it onto Fox News or Breitbart.

It is not just the Dems that dislike Trump, plenty of GOP types dislike him too but they fear him and the label 'RINO'. (There is no comparable term for Dems that don't toe the party line.)

Does that apply to Mamdani or just people the Right doesn't like.

You mean once you take that plank out of your own eye.
Beat it Herman the Vermin.

It’s a relevant question in order to better understand your concept of an “intellectual”.
Why won't you answer the question?

This is why I posted this thread, this sort of poster.

Who do conservatives think is a right wing intellectual?

That jogs my memory--- I just thought of a true leftwing/democrat intellectual.

Maybe the only one. Alan Dershowitz.

He says he is still a democrat. He certainly qualifies as an intellectual.

Democrats hate him. He actually thinks for himself instead of in lockstep with the Tesla-burning Jew-haters.

It’s a pretty silly question. Obviously there are democratic intellectuals, lots of them.

For some reason you don’t think they count.

The Democrat message is that people are victims and the reason they are victims have to do with society at large.

Nobody with critical thinking skills falls for that shit.

He lost my respect when he defended his good friend Jeffrey Epstein.

You guys live in a pretty tight media bubble so it’s really not surprising that you’re never exposed to any real thought outside of if.

Right. When in reality that people are victims because of illegal immigrants, China, and Nancy Pelosi.

Glad you're here......let's see if you prove my thesis:

I know you are a Democrat, but of the Left, or the Communist Left.
This is a lie. The right wing has lost all respect for democracy. I am for democracy. Only the Democratic party reflects democratic ideas even if it is a broad tent. I am an American. You are 0-1 with a ridiculous attempt to set up a strawman that I am some kind of communist supporter. What a troll by someone pretending to be an intellectual and pretending to be a chic.
I trust you are brave enough to answer this question:
If the direction of the Democrat Party, nationally, mirrors that of Mamdani, Bernie, and AOC, will you vote Democrat?
Bernie, AOC and Mamdani are not a homogenous group. The reason you selected them is because you want to create a false narrative. All of them represent very small constituents, with Mamdani potentially representing the largest and even he was a binary choice of institution vs youth. Their most radical ideas arent in the democratic platform. The party is a broad tent reflecting freedom and choice.
Mamdani proposed increasing taxes on white neighborhoods –
A document on his website explains the policy idea to “shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods.”
He poorly worded the idea that the poor minority areas are overtaxed. You cant see passed your basic position that anything that doesnt favor whites is actually the racism. Its a point made by the insecure and uniformed.
Mamdani is already leaning into his socialist views, telling CNN that he has “many critiques of capitalism.

There are lots of critiques of unmoderated and unregulated capitalism. I share them even though I make a really good living in capitalism.

Where do you stand?
Anyone of average intelligence can distinguish between support for innocent Palestinians and anti-Semetic language. What a cop out. This is intellectualism to you?

This is a lie. The right wing has lost all respect for democracy. I am for democracy. Only the Democratic party reflects democratic ideas even if it is a broad tent.

WRONG. You are all for Democrat Party ideas, not democracy; if you were for democracy, you'd be supporting Trump now. And as to democracy, which means mob rule, the 2024 election showed Trump to be the mob now. He won the popular vote by millions, so you have no respect for democracy.

The Right wing is for our Republic. We are a republic of laws, with mere democratic underpinnings, that is what threw you off. The law is the thing, law is a process, and laws don't always take everyone's views, wishes, or needs the same.

But then, Democrat's don't take the views, wishes, or needs of 60% of the country at all.

Beat it Herman the Vermin.
3. But here on the board, basking in the most beautiful aspect of America, free speech, we can't seem to get beyond cursing and juvenile tit-for-tats that don't address the pivotal aspect of our Left-Right views. Where are the "good point," or "I never thought of that" or "I don't agree because..."?
Where are the carefully posited view points, documented with important quotes and statements by names we all know and respect?
While this board could be college or grad school, it is largely junior high.
