Perhaps that is somewhat true from the point of view of a man who is uncomfortable with other men “hitting on” him, but in general I don't think that's always true.

A “gay man” might be a little bit too flashy or fashionable, but sometimes it might be interpreted as he just hasn't found the right woman yet.

There's a stereotype of a lesbian “wicked witch” with a broomstick up her c**t, no less reviled than a gay man.

Well the ones that are Tom Boys anyway. Never met a country redneck boy who did not like them. And just because there Tom Boys does not mean there lesbians. All girls go through a Tom Boy Stage. As far as gay men , I can only judge by the ones I have met in my work which was warranty work in new homes. They did seem for what ever reason to be more verbally abusive toward me then lesbians I have met. One Trans fellow was the worse. I kept calm spoke to them in a calm voice and did my repair and left. Back in Highschool my teacher told me LGBTQ people see me as the enemy and a threat.
