Of course, solar doesn’t produce much energy so the absolute amount wasn’t all that much. Still according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO study), federal energy-related subsidies in 2011 totaled $24 billion, of which $16 billion was spent on renewable energy and energy efficiency and $2.5 billion on fossil fuels in fiscal year 2011.

So CO2 ends up getting the short end of the deal, and all those Prog Masta's who have investing in renewables, watch their stocks go through the roof, while providing next to nil of energy to the consumer. You are such a dumbass.....

The OP is correct, possibly. 2035 is a long way off, but if California and other states mandate zero emission vehicles, then regardless of what you want, you will be compelled to buy an electric car (or comparable) from that point forward. You could keep your old car, but over time gasoline sources will become rarer and rarer, with the predictable effect on gas prices.

But it's nothing to fret about. The technology is advancing by leaps and bounds. By 2030 it will be stupid to buy an ICE vehicle. EV's will have range over 400 miles and you will be able to recharge them in the time it takes to have a Big Mac & fries.

Chinese battery manufacturers produce up to 60 per cent more CO2 during fabrication than ICE engine production, but according to the report, the country’s manufacturers could cut their emissions by up to 66 per cent if they implemented American or European manufacturing techniques - China is also expected to make rapid progress towards the uptake of EVs as its renewable industry further grows[vi].

And of course it isn't just that an EV consumes massive amounts of energy in the manufacturing process, there is also the problem of disposal of Lithium-Ion when the batteries fail - average of 5 years. Then we go through the massive energy use of crafting replacement batteries.

The left pretends that an EV does nothing more than draw power from the grid and convert it to the wheels. This is entirely false. The entire process of building an electric vehicle must be considered, and no - it is not more energy efficient. over 150,000 miles, it is less energy efficient than a small ICE.
