That's right, they do need an entire month. They need a month for the same reason that women need a women's history month-for the same reason that black people need black history month, These are all groups have historically suffered from discrimination, Groups who have been told by society that you are not worth as much - or maybe not worth anything- and who are now pushing back . They are expressing pride -not so much for being gay or black or female, but for having survived the discrimination that has been heaped on them. They are expressing pride in their accomplishments and contributions to society that often go unrecognized.

Those months were necessitated by the bigots and misogynists who marginalized them all. They all want the same recognition- no more and no less- as anyone else. The difference is that they have to fight for it . That does not mean that they do not just want t live their lives freely and openly and without fear like everyone else. Please stop whining. Your embarrassing yourself
