Key point, EVERY president focuses on foreign affairs because that's how they look "Presidential". Solving the root problems is hard work. Especially for a guy like Trump who really doesn't understand how things work (like who actually pays tariffs).

The thing is, we HAD a sensible agreement to keep Iran from getting nukes. Trump tore it up.
Iran was willing to negotiate a new agreement in Geneva. Trump bombed them anyway.
Now we have this agreement, which probably won't last becaue the Israelis don't want peace. They want the Iranian regime gone. Not because they MIGHT get nukes, but because the last thing they want is a populist uprising to overthrow the rest of the compromised monarchies in the region.

The only regret I have thus far about being a mod is having to read your soulless posts.

Um, okay. The US and Israel have killed up to 10,000 Iranians so far. Not to mention the 75,000 people killed in Gaza. that's soulless, if souls were actually a thing.

Clearly this is a humiliating defeat for the Trump administration. Details are still emerging but from multiple sources this is what is being leaded thus far:

First of all; there is a deal (NY Times):

The stated reason for going in and starting the 3 week war that lasted more than 3 months was their nuclear program. To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Trump backed off having that issue resolved and is going to be supposedly resolved separately:

I'm sure they'll be spinning this as a victory which of course is humorous at best and sad at worst. We went from "unconditional surrender" to coughing up $24B and no resolution to the nuke program. Its a massive loss for the Trump administration.
