Saints #1 players seemed to play heads up pretty good vs. SD (tied at the half?). Rattler did not look so good. Shough throwing looks better but I he had some INT to let SD win going away if I remember right. I don't know? I am not sure Rattler is the answer? Not much improvement over last year.

The offensive line is terrible. Nobody looks good with that.

Remember when Tom Brady faced NYG in two super bowls.

Every QB needs protection, and when Tom Brady didn't get any, the Patriots lost....

I found this and it pretty much sums up Rattlers day.

Context and analysis
  • Rattler led the Saints' offense on five possessions but failed to score any points.
  • He lost a fumble on a sack in the second quarter.
  • Rattler displayed some mobility, leading the team in rushing with 22 yards on three carries.
  • His performance was described as "inconsistent," with some positive moments mixed with jitters and issues handling pressure.
  • The Saints' offensive line struggled at times, contributing to the pressure Rattler faced.
  • Rattler is competing for the starting quarterback position following Derek Carr's retirement. Rookie Tyler Shough, who entered after Rattler, also played and threw the Saints' only touchdown pass, completing 15 of 22 attempts for 165 yards. This has fueled discussion about the quarterback competition in New Orleans.

Yeah I guess I was mistaken? They looked good to me overall. I thought they had Rattler on some kind of "don't take off" command? He ran only three times. That is going to have to be his game, running.

They were getting to Spencer fast. Spencer has a quick release. The Saint OL is going to make the QB situation there simply impossible. Kelvin Banks cannot handle NFL OT pass protection.

I don't watch NFL, at least not since Favre retired, but I am curious to see how Arch Manning fares.

Wanna see if he lives up to the hype.

I forget when they play, though. It's some time this week, I think.

ARCH is QB on TX NCAAF. They open up at Ohio State and TX is favored by 2pts based on Arch hype?

note: Betting ODDS start out with an idea of who might win? but if all the money all rolls in on TX.....then they would begin to make TX add points to try and entice betting on OSU as the underdog.
Not really a true indicator of who is better or worse? But what "betters" think will happen. Maybe that is a true indicator?

Pre-season talk I heard was NO was intentionally going to TANK the season so that they could get the #1 pick and go after ARCH Manning? Is he draftable after this year?

Yes, Arch Manning will be draft-eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft, as he will be three years removed from high school. NFL rules require players to be three years removed from high school to be eligible for the draft. While some mock drafts have him projected as a top pick, his grandfather, Archie Manning, has stated that Arch will likely stay at the University of Texas for another year and not enter the 2026 draft,

Peyton and Eli both started for four years in SEC. Arch not coming out. Arch isn't that good either....

The Horns play the Buckeyes Labor Day weekend.

There really is no reason to play the season.

Everyone knows

Texas goes undefeated
Arch Manning wins heisman
Arch Manning goes #1 in Draft

just don't check the tape on what his arm really looks like...

Good score today for New Orleans, WR Devaugn Vele from Denver via Utah. Shocked Denver parted with this kid. Whoever is the QB will really like Vele.

Coach Moore was OC for the eagles last year. He is familiar with Quarterback Tanner McKee who is scheduled to be the 2nd string for the Eagles.

TX likely loses opening day and at UGA.
Manning likely doesn’t win the heisman
Whether or not Manning comes out will depend on who’s drafting early. He’s not going to NO, Jets, CLE or some other dysfunctional franchise. Why would he? He’s making tons of money in college.

Your assessment of Manning is suspect at best. You still think Rattler was the best QB in his class.

That was actually an attempt at humor....

No question Daniels won the first year "running away." History suggests QBs who run as much as he does do not last.

Rattler has a quick release and a great arm.

You were claiming Vince Young was great after he won OROY. You didn't watch the games. There was one game against Jax where the Titans managed a full 6 first downs on offense, but "Vince Young won the game" 17-14, where the Titans scores were

Pacman pick 6
Pacman PR to the house
Pacman KR to the Jax redzone, where Vince Young went 3 and out and they kicked a FG

but VINCE YOUNG "WON" the game....

15th post
The choices known to date...
Id say Rattler may be the slight favorite but both quarter backs are very young Shough is a true rookie and Rattler has only played 7 games in the NFL in reality both ate rookies .... we could see both play ..

Arent you the guy who was trying to tell everyone Rattler was the best QB of his draft class???
:abgg2q.jpg:
Rattler was one of the best QB in his draft class ! he did wondersin SC with basically no o line .. I couldn't believe he was a 5th round pick .. but he was .. if NO can get their o line tight and develop competent TEs and receivers Rattler will put up great numbers .. bank on it ! but he needs a team to help him get there .. especially since he's only played 7 games .. the kid is basically a rookie .

He cant even win the starting job on the train wreck of a team that is the NO Saints. Meanwhile

Daniels
Williams
Nix
McCarthy
Penix
Maye

All starters.

Rattler may be a decent QB. There's a better chance that he's a career backup than a starter and there's zero chance he's the best QB in his draft class which is the argument.

BTW there were 10 QB's drafted in 2024.

6 of them won starting jobs their rookie year. Rattler is 7 of 10 at best. He's definitively NOT one of the best QB's in his draft.
