I don't think it matters what his political affiliation was, either way it isn't right to label an entire group based on one person's actions. IMHO, he had to know he was going to get shot by the SS or the cops, as far as I can tell he had no way of slipping away undetected. So, this was a suicide, a guy who probably wanted his name in the papers and on the internet and be a somebody rather than a nobody. It might not be all that political.
