Who REALLY wanted to shut down the government?

After months of Democrats talking nonstop about how it's the GOP that wants to shut down the government...was anyone else struck by the irony of watching Democratic Congressman Bowman pull a fire alarm in order to halt the vote to pass a bill that kept government funded? All of that posturing about how "evil" Republicans wanted to deny monies to people dependent on government went right out the window when "The Squad" and Democrats didn't get what they really wanted...which was a shut down that they could then blame on the GOP!

Democrats really wanted a shutdown to blame for the coming 2024 elections.

The GOP isn't out of the woods yet, the Budget isn't close to being passed.

The Senate version of the Budget is nothing like the House version. A shutdown is likely.

The Senate version of the Budget is nothing like the House version. A shutdown is likely.

It should be obvious at this point that it's the Democrats who could care less about people not getting Social Security checks or the military not getting pay checks. They think that a shut down will help them politically by diverting attention from how badly things are going in areas of the country controlled by Democrats. They know that the Main Stream Media will portray the shutdown as something the GOP is responsible for when the truth is that Democrats WANTED a shut down all along!

Exactly, shrink the government to nothing and reduce all the taxes the fees, any way they collect money to one tax.

Privatize all government functions, the Fed and Post Office are semi-private.

A shutdown should have more teeth.....No work, no back pay for non-essential .gov workers/contractors.

It would be akin to not recharging the poor's EBT cards.....Except a lot of those people laid-off are armed.

Then we get the budget deficit accusation game when it is not reduced from the progs because it has to be the rich that do not pay. Progs have had many opportunities to raise the taxes massively and for some reason sidestep it even if they do raise them. We are living beyond our means. The corrupted are even using inflation as a tax to keep solvent.
