there's no such thing as a deep state government ...that's Trump's attempt to blame all his legal troubles on the government for catching him doing illegal actions ... these generals have been on all news networks why do you not know this ... they are saying these things because they were trying to stop him from doing these illegal actions ... Wrong.
The whole point of tariffs is to make imports too expensive for people to want to buy them, so the harm is done to the foreign manufacturer.
The fact the importer has to actually pay it and he tries to pass it along to the consumer, is irrelevant. The reality is that tariffs harm the foreign manufacturer.

It could easily be argued that the foreign manufacturer has to pay the tariff, by lowering their price, or else the product won't sell in the US.

The U.S treasury takes in the funds. If a company chooses to pass that on to the consumer that is up to them, you as a consumer don't have to buy Made in China.

Tariffs are VERY popular worldwide. Best applied in my opinion to abusive trade nations or to reciprocate their tariff.

and yet the Americans are forced to pay the cost of the tariffs and they pay it ... It does nothing for the consumer it does nothing to stop unfair trade practices... even though they put on a tariff it's still cheaper then the same product sold in the country...

Now I am not a big supporter of tariffs except in strategic situations. As a technical reality though, in short, NO, consumers do NOT pay directly for the tariff.

first of all, nobody has ever said that the consumer pays directly for a tariff everybody knows the country puts in on a product then that product comes into the county with a higher price ...that hire price is then passed on to the consumer ... are you this dumb ???...are you for real ??? no Manufacturing is going to absorb the loss of a tariff period... no the consumer doesn't have to buy it ... but they do because even though it costs higher these mgf did this... they built the factory here in the us getting around the tariffs... let me explain to you a comparable car honda pilot and the ford explorer the honda pilot cost 37,000 ...the ford explorer cost 64,000.. that's a 27000 dollar difference hows that hurting the honda company ... love to hear that one
