Who is getting hurt and what we are losing with what Trump and Musk are doing!

The one redeeming aspect of what Teump is doing, is that he has been forced to back down on so,e of it, and the courts have taken care of much of the rest.

in reality, Trump and Musk are putting on a show for Trump’s cult followers.

These people believe whatever comes out ofhis mouth (aor defend it anyway).

It’s mostly designed to appeal o old parochial and racist tropes.

It’s clear that Musk’s DOGE hit aqua are only really looking around for names of programs or agencies that they can attack, and feeding the claims out on X, to a low information easily conned audience.

It’s noise, designed to present the appearance of ¥shaking things up.

The target audience doesn’t know the difference, and doesn’t really care, as long as they’re entertained.
Your post makes a whole lot of sense. The again, it means that we are in the middle of a scam operation and scams normally end up badly, given that the win for the scammer is temporary, and everyone loses in the end.

Look, I am not going to debate the benefits of non-benefits of giving to the homeless. I will say that we have been doing that for decades (if not centuries) and we are known as the nation that does care about them.

We will lose that reputation now with Trump. I don't know what your values are but a good reputation is hard to gain and easy to lose and reputation matters. The way others see you, increases or decreases your ability to do most everything.

For someone like you that seems to not value humanity, I can understand you not seeing the value. Nonetheless, like everything in life is, you draw to yourself who you are yourself. For example, you want a loving wife, you need to be a loving man. You want a bitch, then be a bitch yourself.

I think morals, ethics, principles and humanity are more important than money. Then again, money is a need, meaning you have to find a middle ground so that both can be achieved. For decades we have been on that middle ground and now Trump is taking us to "my way or the highway" and you should know that most people choose the highway because no one wants to do it YOUR WAY alone.

You're a liar and a hypocrite. you obviously won't put your family in debt to feed people in your own city. But you have no problem your government putting them in debt on your behalf, just let the kiddos deal with it, RIGHT? BTW, aid for food is being exempted, I bet you didn't know that, did ya?

.

The US Government is the largest employer in the country. How can anyone with a fraction of a brain cell justify this.

I am more concerned about the how he is trying this. Get Congress to cosign most of this stuff (well except the idiotic ending of natural born citizenship) and I will accept it as lawful and legit whether I would personally do it or not.

Putting the government in debt? that is hilarious.

Talking about being a hypocrite, you take the cake. You do know that Trump increased the debt of our country by $8 trillion dollars in 2016, and a good portion of that was money he gave to the rich with his tax cuts.

The budget for USAID represents 1.2% of our debt ($70 billion) and Trump's tax cuts represented 21.5% of our debt ($7.8 trillion) of our $36.2 trillion debt.

You are a total ignorant man that spews hate, misinformation and idiocracy everywhere

Every action in life has benefits and consequences and the bottom line is that the goal is to always have more benefits than consequences, so the nation and its people can advance and not recede (two steps forward and 1 back rather than the opposite). This OP is going to discuss who is getting hurt and if the consequences of Trump's actions will end up being a plus or a minus for our country.

What Trump has been doing it trying to keep his campaign promises and as such, he is having a 53% approval rating for doing that. Keeping campaign promises is never a bad thing because it is what he was elected to do. Having said that, the way he does that and what the end result ends up being is what is going to make this nation better or worse.

Let me start with this one piece of common sense. Doing a lot of harm to others is never a plus.

In addition, his shutdown of USAID not only removes jobs from thousands of Americans but removes aid from the poor, sick, and needy in the world.

The plus to all of this is a reduction in spending. This hopefully means less debt but the way that Trump is doing it also means the following:

1) less Americans working
2) less taxes being collected
3) less people receiving the needed help to stay alive
4) more Americans needing help
5) more American companies losing the income they need to stay in business
6) more chaos and less order
7) allies becoming enemies
8) hate and payback feelings increased, bringing new problems

Yes, some of the promises made fulfill a need that the nation has but the way that Trump and Musk are going about fulfilling those promises is by using a sledgehammer approach and that is never a plus. Destroying things that have been in effect for decades and offer good and needed things but are full of "fat", is not the way to go. You trim the fat and put them on a diet but you don't blow them away and start from scratch.

That is a recipe for disaster

My biggest accusation against Trump has always been incompetency. He has tried many things in life but with the exceptions of the things his father taught him from a young age (Real Estate and scamming people), Trump has been a disaster. He does not learn from his mistakes because he is a narcissist and always blames others for his own mistakes.

Musk has been a highly successful businessman all his life but it has always been in things he had an interest in and spent time learning about. Nonetheless, his ego has grown to such a degree that he is no longer spending the time to learn new things (such as what governing needs and requires, and what being in a business he has never been in, like social media needs and requires).

He bought Twitter in October of last year and made huge changes (the same he is trying to do now), and now 4 months later, Twitter (as X) has lost 79% in value, has lost most of its income (advertisers have left) and has lost viewership as the changes he made to the media itself, are not liked by the viewers.

Both of these people are making huge changes and are not thinking about the consequences of what they are doing and what possibly was a good thing is now looking like a disaster-in-the-making.

Amen

It’s just Elmo trying to cover his Starlink scam.

Killing USAID won’t put a dent in the debt. Not even a scratch
The Only Way to Fill the Takeback Bucket Is Drop by Drop

Billions in savings, along with other DOGEes, will balance the budget. Billions in fines will pay for Trump's tax cuts.

The courts aren't finished yet. Inevitably, they will be when the SCOTUS rules though and I don't think you are going to be happy when they show you what the constitution says about what Trump is doing. Condolences.

Condolences for the end of democracy in the United States.

Are you actually cheering for the Supreme Court to anoint your beloved fuhrer king???????

We all knew you guys were basically facists. But to have someone declare it out loud……..

Yeah, just keep moving those goal posts. LMAO

BS! Government supported Welfare did not start until 1935. Before then, Americans that were down on their luck relied on public sector charity. That is where charity belongs. Forcing it on the taxpayers is purely Marxist.

Fascism is a political party STEALING taxpayer dollars under false pretenses or making taxpayers pay for their pet projects. You know all about that. Strange that you feel identifying and doing away with unconstitutional waste is fascism. LOL, run along sonny.

Truthfully, we have a slowly expanding government as a percentage of GDP with deficits part of the equation. The percentage went higher with Covid and Progs do not want to return it to what it was before then.

Your response was fake, nonsensical made up trash.

you endorsed facism in your post.

You are cheering in anticipation of the Supreme Court placing your beloved fuhrer above the law. Allowing him to rule by decree.

Which would mark the end of American democracy,

When confronted with your own words, you make yup some bullshit about facism being a “party” and surrounded it with made up generalized claims about unspecified “stealing”.

You are cheering like a facist, for a wannabe dictaror.

Own your disgrace.

You are not an American.

Your inability to comprehend English is an indictment on the public school system.
You are cheering in anticipation of the Supreme Court placing your beloved fuhrer above the law. Allowing him to rule by decree.
I am cheering the SCOTUS upholding the constitution. Your assertion that using perfectly legal executive orders is ruling by decree may be true, but your beloved demented one used it to a larger extent than any other POTUS in the history of the US and the fact that you want to use childish ad hom to make your point points to your immaturity.
Which would mark the end of American democracy,
America is not and has never been a democracy. It is a republic. Have you never comprehended the Pledge of Allegiance?
When confronted with your own words, you make yup some bullshit about facism being a “party” and surrounded it with made up generalized claims about unspecified “stealing”.
If you are so naive that you don't see the theft, then I can't help you. As for being confronted with my own words---Sorry, you failed in that regard as well.
You are not an American.
You wouldn't know an American if one bit you in the butt. Now, again, run along sonny. Come back when you're dry behind the ears and you can understand our founding document.

Truthfully, we have a slowly expanding government as a percentage of GDP with deficits part of the equation. The percentage went higher with Covid and Progs do not want to return it to what it was before then.
Whatever, destroying what is there and starting anew is not the answer either. Things are fixed, trimmed and made better............not thrown away

They relied on public charity and died young

LMAO, I don't remember all of your indignation when the same thing was going on four years ago while the price of fuel more than doubled to the highest prices ever seen in the history of the country. Your protests are disingenuous.

Yeah, just keep moving those goal posts. LMAO

.
That is not moving the goal posts, it is addressing the size of the field and showing who the players are and their talents. If you have a field goal kicker that misses 20% of the time and another one that misses 1.2% of the time, that is knowledge on what is necessary to win the game, and it certainly is not with the field goal kicker that misses 20% of time.
