People are now becoming much more regionalized and will become more tribal and localized as time moves on. There are consequences to becoming authoritarian and stealing elections. Trump created chaos and dysfunction by simply demanding everyone's resignation and throwing them out of their jobs, before he hired anyone to replace them.
In regards to the Justice Department, some DA's were preparing for trials which started within days and had no replacements to bring up to speed on these court matters. All of the regional prosecutors' offices were thrown into chaos with upcoming prosecutions by the manner in which Trump handled this change over.
In contrast, Biden replaced the federal prosecutors as their trials wrapped up, and when they had someone ready to take over the desk and the files right away.
Similarly, the Biden administration is slowly moving all federal prisoners out of the "for profit" prisons and prison camps, as they re-open the federally run facilities and get them staffed. They brought in the immigration staffers to process the refugee claims. Once the for profit facilities have been emptied of prisoners. and then closing them down.
Biden has faced criticism for the length of time it took him to close the camps and the holding pens, but to have closed them down with no alternative facilities or staff available, and no staff to process their claims, would have created more chaos. There were already incidents of kids sleeping on buses because the buses arrived and the facilities and/or weren't ready for them.
