Actually, it was unprecedented situation even for the Cold War. Technically, one can say that we are closer to a nuclear war with Russia now than in any given time of our history, including Cuban Missile Crisis.

WWIII. This country is going to be balkanized within the next 20 years. Split into regions, with conservative Christians holding a region and perhaps the leftists will have their area. I'm being optimistic. We may just plunge into complete chaos, especially if there's a nuclear war. It's Mad Max, Road Warriors. I disagree with progressives in the area of social issues, like LGBTQIA+/puberty blockers for children, I'm against abortions of convenience or willy-nilly abortions, and I'm against pornography being legal and legalizing prostitution. I'm for making drug dealing and smuggling a capital offense but unlike most Christian conservatives, I'm against criminalizing drug addiction. So I would force (adjudicate) drug addicts, especially homeless drug addicts into rehab (they would be institutionalized until they're cured), and drug dealers and smugglers would be charged with a capital crime. They would either be executed or spend the rest of their lives behind bars, for poisoning and murdering others with their drugs.

Unlike conservatives, I'm for legalizing marijuana/cannabis. I feel it's less harmful than alcohol and nothing compared to hard drugs. I don't use Mary Jane, but I will compromise on this issue and let people smoke pot in the privacy of their home. Not that I have the power to stop them, but my vote would be in favor of them having this freedom.

Where I REALLY disagree with right-wing conservatives is in the area of economics and foreign policy. So on those issues, I'm of the far-left. In a war between the right and the left, it would be difficult for me to choose, which side I would be on. Unregulated capitalism and imperialism, for me, are just as destructive as all of these social issues and practices that conservatives oppose (abortion, LGBTQIA+..etc).

I find the LGBTQIA+ repulsive, with their attempt to influence our children and I hate wholesale abortion and pornography..etc. But I also, just as much, hate American imperialism, warmongering, and imposing economic embargoes on other countries (which always just hurts the poor. including children). I'm against the war profiteers, the Military Industrial Complex. I'm against crony capitalism, and also the presumption made by many conservatives that the government shouldn't manage anything concerning social services, or our economy.

I believe our nation's natural resources, like oil, gas, and precious ore, should be considered the nation's commonwealth. All Americans own those resources, hence our government should nationalize companies that extract and sell those natural resources. The revenue generated by those major industries should be deposited in the public treasury. That money would be used for healthcare, education, building, and maintaining our national infrastructure. It would be difficult for me to choose whether I would live among leftists or right-wing conservatives since I kind of stand in the middle of the two.
