No. Our recognition of the independence of Newfoundland People's Republic gives us the right to defend them.
If the Canadians do not recognize independence of NPR it gives them (Canadians) right to defend themselves and attack their "rioted province".
So, both sides have a perfectly legal right to fight each other and in the fair fight decide if NPR will be independent or not.
And yes, if the Canadians decide to join Russia and China (which is their God-given right) we may have no other option but attack Canada (directly or indirectly).
