Doesn't matter the brand.
Every car I ever wrenched on I can find some fault with some stupid engineering design that makes a repair far more labor intensive than it needs to be. Newer cars are horrible for this shit.
Add all the sensors and shit and suddenly that $800 bumper replacement is actually several thousand now. Even some vehicles require the bumper to be removed to change a damn bulb.
Car Engineer's should be cast into Hell and forced to repair their shitty designs for eternity.

Signed, Broken Knuckles Guy.
They don't break their knuckles on the keyboard.

ABS and electronic ignition/mixture control are the only two technological advancements I can think of that have been worth a shit...Everything else is just a money sucking maintenance nightmare.
Voice activation?
I find myself yelling at the vehicle when it gets it wrong. Useless.
Very happy my truck doesn't have that annoying start/stop shit, or that cylinder deactivation crap that I blame for stuck lifters and a chewed up cam in a 5.7 Hemi Jeep.
Also not convinced on the longevity of the newer 8-10 speed transmissions to save a measly couple miles per gallon. Recalls galore on that shit.

/—-/ Expect Trump’s run agencies to roll back the stupid regulations.
Congress just overturned California’s EV mandate.

'72 Olds Cutlass. My first car bought in 1989. All I had to do was whisper in the direction of the accelerator, and that thing got outs of its own way.

My snotty car-guy younger brother got a new Honda that year, and I drove up next to it in the street, in the Cutlass, while he was out washing it, and I slapped myself on the forehead and said, "Wow! You coulda had a V-8!", and took off.

He didn't speak to me for two weeks.

All the transmissions are CVT now...Wait for the rebuild bills on those!
I like our Corolla and Tundra, but the dealership had to buy back a Highlander the wife bought with one of those transmissions. Failed within 30 days of purchase. Was a used vehicle. New Toyota transmission leaked gear oil all over our garage floor and back it went. Toyota determined new trans was also bad, and two weeks ago we were told there was a stop order on all of those trans for Highlander and Rav4. There is no repair available, entire unit needs to be replaced. Some folks it cost them about $9,000.
Dealer took the vehicle back since they had no idea if it could be replaced at this point.
She went with a VW Atlas with much lower miles.
Right now I wouldn't buy anything post Covid.
Every brand is having quality issues.
Stepson works for Mercedes as a mechanic and isn't really impressed with them either.

My first ride was a 76 Cutlass Supreme.
Mom and Dad were not pleased when I took out a light pole on the drivers side.

Sweet! What color was it? My '72 was bronze with a black primered left rear quarter panel. Back in '89 and '90, I'd have people stop and offer me far more than I paid for it, for parting it out, at least once a month.

Brown two door.
Thing was a boat.
Everyone always wanted to buy it. I think it was the last year of that engine.
Then my parents bought a Chevy Vega after that for the fuel economy because of the Carter/Iranian oil crisis. Lol. What a piece of crap.

I appreciated the "boatness" of my Cutlass -- I could tell I was surrounded by about a ton of real steel. Never felt safe in bitty little cars. I now drive my late husband's 2012 Camry XLE and I still have that feeling of safety, although not quite as much.

long live the VW!
VW - best model car I've ever owned, hands down. All the creature comforts lacking in American and Japanese cars, more performance than found in both (Tiptronic transmission, I can switch between manual and automatic) and.........drumroll............the most reliable of all of them.

Should note that mine is a 2008, which means it was built in Germany, now they are all made in Mexico.

That was my car in High School, that's crazy. I had a coolant leak and put a hole in one of the pistons, cracked both heads, and it was my first time rebuilding an engine. Turned into a good learning experience.

once owned a SAAB 900 turbo and it was a hoot, every reliable, massive trunk for a coupe
super unique of course, dashboard looked like an jet and ignition was between the seats
solid built, leather seats were thick and super comfy
I moved and had too many cars and I sold the wrong one
hindsight now they are no longer, important parts are available but nothing dealer and
not many in junkyards either
