Wrong. We have over 200 political parties. 50 something with ballot access.
Effectively only two...

When has a third party had over 5% of the Congress or Senate?

This is what EU parliament looks like:

Why are you defending the two party model? Do you not like people getting closer to what they want...

We have more than 50 parties that have ballot access. But the people are stuck on stupid. They vote for party, not the candidate.
That is the difference Europe:
In Ireland as an example, for larger parties you get to choose your candidate and they will normally have a number of candidate... You vote by preference in multiple seat districts...
This what a ballot paper looks like

There will be multiple people from the same party on the list... You vote by preference...
So if you had 3 members from the republican party on the list and you like Republican party you can select which one you like for your 1,2,3.... OR you mix and match because you to vote for someone who is from your area more... nothing stopping you...

My area has 5 seats so the bigger parties might target getting two seats...

Counting is a bit complex... This what it looks like...
They count all the number 1s first. The then establish a quota (i.e. the number of votes that guarantees your election (Maths Total Number of Votes / (Number seats available +1).
So in the example below it is a 5 seats they are going for and 60,277 people voted. (60,277/ (5 +1) =10,047) the Quota is 10,047.

They then discount the lowest and take there next preference and share them between who is left. If someone is over quota they take a random selection and share them out. This is count 2.

the keep going until there is only 6 left.. 5 highest then win...

The result here was the three biggest parties Sinn Fein, Fianna Fail and Fine Gael got a seat each and there was two independents...
The voter gets to vote for who you want without wasting your vote...

Counting takes a couple of days and starts at 9am on the day after voting. All votes hand counted, no machines... There is a romance in how it kind of drips in over the weekend. Voting is usually on a Friday. No instant.

For the count they look like this. The vote counters are sitting down at the top of the picture.
On the bottom are 'Tally Men', they are counting along, any member of the public can be there (as long as you behave yourself)... Each party or candidate will have their representatives there too, keeping count... they are the ones giving early unofficial indict cations of where things seem to be going.
But TV stations don't call anything. A returning officer reads out the results of each count and if someone passes the quota, deems them elected and if you are lowest you disqualified and your votes are shared to the candidates that are left by the voters next preference.

All very civil...
Tradition is then to lift the candidate up on there shoulders

This is quite a common style of election around the world... It is called PR-STV, proportional representation (PR) for voting in elections, with each voter having a singletransferable vote (STV).

Politicians that ACTUALLY want to do that never get anywhere. So you retards vote for liars that will only eat away at our freedom.
And you retards just *****, have no solutions, but are a major part of "The Problem".

You mean the ones that value the constitution and freedom?
Why does it not surprise me that your statist ass defends the duopoly?
It doesn't surprise you because;
1) You haven't a brain.
2) You have no clue what you are talking about
3) You have no solution or workable alternative
4) It's only a "duopoly" to ignorant arses like you who never get involved nor work to fix what you think is wrong
5) I'm not a "statist". You might try this to see where YOU place, if you can be honest with yourself (I don't care to know where you place. Most who announce such are lying anyway.)

Nah, **** that and all these advcates of more of what got us to this place.
You appear to be one of them;
