The system in the US is called healthcare. A normal pregnancy is not hazardous to health and thus doesn't need medical intervention. When it does become a health issue, it's by being a risk to the mother, then abortion is acceptable. I would further add that if a test came back highlighting a deformed foetus, spinal bifida, down syndrome etc.. then abortion should be offered. A normal healthy pregnancy should be exempt from abortion.

So that's my vote.

Why not States give it's citizens a vote, and why not give doctors a vote to opt in or out in performing an abortion. Then you have choices all round.

Better still, get rid of the problem altogether, make the choice before conceiving, but, I suppose that takes an IQ level above kitchen worktop level, hence the debate.

The citizens have a vote, you limey ignoramus! Our state legislature passed a very restrictive abortion law. The people voted for those legislators and the governor who signed it. That's how a representative democracy works. I personally oppose the current law and will be voting for legislators who will reduce the restrictiveness of that law. That is my choice.
