When it is really a heartbeat.

Sperm never becomes anything other than sperm. If sperm fertilizes an egg, a new HUMAN life is conceived.
But you can't say it is anything but sperm until an egg is present, and they join. That's like a few quivering cells can't be considered a beating heart until there is heart muscle and chambers. For now, I'm only discussing the comparitively narrow subject of a beating heart. You seem determined to bring in things not directly related to whether a beating heart exists, and when.

Yes, that is what abortion opponents have always said. How honest is it to claim a beating heart when there are no muscles there to beat? Why do you feel the need to lie about cellular development stages?

Do you know what the differences between a newborn babies brain, teenagers brain, and a middle-aged man’s brain? Face it, there is no biological, factual or moral defense for your blood thirsty position.

In each of the cases you mentioned, the structure to function as a brain exists. In the case of a 6 week embryo, structure to function as a heart doesn't.

Well, no. but the existance of an electronic pacemaker doesn't matter if there is no heart muscle to trigger. At six weeks, there is no heart muscle to trigger.
The law is attempting to establish a legal definition of life. If you dont like that definition then you need to provide your own that we can discuss. The abortion debate is about when the baby growing inside it's mother's womb is considered a human life. Before that there's no issue with someone having an abortion. After that it's murder. That's really what the abortion debate is about. It's not about controlling a woman's choice or what she can do with her body. It's what's she choosing to do with the person's body that's inside her that's the issue. So if the "heartbeat" isnt the line what is?

Anti-abortion proponents claim that there is a beating heart present at six weeks. The fact is that at six weeks there is only a rudimentary tube that can eventually become a heart, and a few quivering cells that will eventually become the pacemaker which supplies electrical pulses controlling the heart beat. There is no heart structure present to actually behave as a heart behaves. No valves, no chambers, no muscle to pump anything. The preliminary structures that will eventually become parts of the heart are not a heart, and claiming they are is vast exaggeration at best. Recent research has shown when major structures of the heart develop, and it is amazingly over a four day period 124 days into the pregnancy. Before this four day period, the beginnings of the heart are not viable, and can not survive outside the womb.

Researchers and neonatologists studying fetal cardiac development have typically run into critical limitations, as many of the known structures of the human heart can only be identified in the latter stages of gestation. Now, a group of investigators at the University of Leeds has just published data, using cutting-edge imaging technology, that shows that major structures of a baby's heart form in just four days. Findings from the new study—published today in Scientific Reports in an article entitled “Ventricular Myocardium Development and the Role of Connexins in the Human Fetal Heart”—help identify the precise time when the four chambers of the heart develop, opening up the possibility that doctors could eventually be able to monitor babies during this critical phase of their development.

Remarkably, the research team found that the most dramatic changes occurred over a four-day period 124 days into the pregnancy. Within this brief period, the muscle tissue of the heart rapidly organizes. Cardiac fibers were laid down to form the helix shape of the heart, within which the four chambers of the heart form. Without this essential architecture in place, the fetal heart cannot survive outside the womb.

Pro-abortionists deny fact that science says life begins at conception.

If someone is contemplating having an abortion, they should be given all the facts before making any decisions.

Certainly a lot more honest than your kind, denying the very humanity of the most innocent and defenseless of all human beings.

Many anti-choice conservatives on the authoritarian right don’t care about this, of course, believing that life begins at conception – or before.

And although the cited article reaffirms the fact that anti-choice laws ‘banning’ abortion when a ‘heartbeat’ is detected – that what’s being ‘detected’ isn’t a heartbeat – are enacted in bad faith, conservatives will as usual ignore facts and the truth.

Conservatives seek more government, bigger government at the expense of individual liberty.

I say let women chose however give them all the facts and not sugar coat them. Science tells us life begins at conception. Pro-abortionist don’t want all facts presented, just their side. Dishonesty is the game for the pro-abortion crowd.

I'm not pro or anti abortion but let's face facts here.

Once an egg is fertilized it is a human being. Life has started, it's just very small is all and if left alone it would turn into a baby. It doesn't magically become a person at a specified point in time because it's still growing and will continue to grow for the next 18 to 19 years before it is finally fully formed.
In your personal, subjective opinion – which is fine.

And it’s a perfectly valid opinion concerning debate in the context of morality, personal beliefs, or religion.

In the context of the law, however, when the state seeks to compel a woman to give birth against her will, this personal, subjective opinion is devoid of merit.

As a fact of settled, accepted Constitutional law, prior to birth, an embryo/fetus is not entitled to Constitutional protections, as the woman’s right to privacy is paramount.

You death mongers are so desperate to try and defend the indefensible that you ignore facts and reality and life as you yourself experience it. You even ignore your own 0P.
You'll note that the claim of a beating heart at 6 weeks was brought up by opponents to abortion. I suspect to elicit an emotional response. That claim has been debunked. I understand you have some valid reasons to believe as you do. I agree with some of those reasons. However, when you make unfounded claims, such as there being a beating heart at six weeks, that will be pointed out. If your belief is correct, you shouldn't need to make shit up to prove it.

So as a matter of law what constitutes life? For the pro choice crowd it's a magical trip through the birth canal which is a very strange standard..

You should "suspect" it's because it can be detected, you irrational ghoul.

I understand what the abortion debate is about. The claim of a beating heart at six weeks was made to support one side of that debate. That particular claim has been debunked. Repeating debunked claims is lying. Is your belief so weak till you have to lie?
